You will depart Tusayan, Arizona located in the South Rim of the Grand Canyon on the safest and most comfortable-tourism based helicopter in the world. On your 45-minute helicopter flight, enjoy the luxurious comfort and wraparound windows which offer breathtaking views of the Canyon.
Enjoy the fantastic views of the Canyon as you fly over the 1.6 million-acre (6,500 km²) Kaibab National Forest, which borders both the north and south rims of the Grand Canyon. The Kaibab National Forest is home to the world’s largest ponderosa pines.
Upon reaching the edge of the canyon, the South Rim gently drops away as the North Rim and east end of the canyon come into view – this is definitely one of the greatest views of the Grand Canyon.
You will continue your journey as you follow the Colorado River upstream viewing at a distance the 146-square mile Painted Desert and the 70-foot (21-meter) Desert View Watchtower, a National Historic Landmark. The Desert View Watchtower features an observation deck from which visitors to the national park can view eastern portions of the Grand Canyon.
Next, view Marble Canyon, the section of the Colorado River which marks the beginning of the Grand Canyon, and Point Imperial, the highest point on the North Rim at 8,803 feet (2,683 meters). Point Imperial overlooks the Painted Desert and the eastern end of Grand Canyon. You will fly through the Canyon above the North Rim heading south through the Dragon Corridor, the widest and deepest section of the Canyon.
At the end of your helicopter flight, you will cross over the Colorado River and fly over the South Rim and the Kaibab National Forest to land.

This is a great overview of the Grand Canyon for out of town visitors. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we did it again with other visitors. The grandeur of the Canyon becomes a reality from the air.
I really don't have the words to describe this experience. I was blown away at the sight from above the canyon. This was my first time on a helicopter so I was a little nervous and the little bit of turbulence you experience didn't help but our pilot was awesome and handled the helicopter wonderfully. You get the full 45 minutes of flight time with 90% being over or in the canyon so was well worth the cost. Extremely safe and there isn't a better view. I definitely recommend this tour.
This is THE way to see the North and South rim of the Grand Canyon! Our pilot, Jesse, perfectly narrated our tour with lots of information while deftly flying this totally fun aircraft. HIGHLY recommend the 45-minute flight with Maverick. Professional staff. Great value. Fantastic experience!
It was awesome. Great way to see Grand Canyon. Highly recommend it. Friendly and professional staff.
I did a solo trip to the Grand Canyon (South Rim) after a business trip in Phoenix. This helicopter tour was by far the highlight of my trip - well worth the money. I visited in January and got very lucky with the weather. Our tour guide/pilot was very personable, knowledgeable, and funny.
It was an amazing experience. The view from Helicopter was so beautiful and different from the view from south rim.
Trip got knocked down to 25 minutes after we booked 45 minutes - but it was because of the weather and poor visibility . Otherwise everyone one the ground staff was courteous and helpful. Our pilot BJ was skilled at flying extremely knowledgeable about the Canyon, and kept us thoroughly entertained throughout the flight!
This was a surprise birthday gift from my wife. The whole experience was delightful. My son flew into AZ the night before - this was also a surprise! We drove up from Prescott to do our 2:00 pm flight. We found the Maverick building at Grand Canyon Airport without a problem and had a speedy check-in. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions our flight was canceled. The customer service rep stated they may have a 4:30 pm opening and sure enough the weather passed and we were able to get our flight in. Our pilot, Chris, was amazing with his knowledge of the canyon and the places he flew over. It seemed like we were in the air for five minutes, not forty-five minutes. This was my second time flying around the Grand Canyon and no doubt it will not be my last. Everyone at Maverick was courteous and professional and will be my choice for subsequent flights.
We had a 12.45 pm scheduled tour which got postponed due to weather to 4.30pm. we showed up at 4pm and we were right away taken for the flight. Luckily me and my parents got the front seats alongside the pilot Robert. The views are mesmerizing and Robert was very knowledgeable of the Grand canyon and the kaibab forest. The tour lasted exactly for 45 min. Maverick Helicopters offered great and friendly service. After shopping around a lot, I was able to get the new member discount with Viator and got this tour for $249.9 per person. Great deal and awesome experience.
We've never been in a helicopter before so we were a bit nervous. But the helicopter was very comfortable and the ride was smooth, so NO PROBLEM! Employees were great, pilot fantastic, facilities and helicopter excellent. The ride of a lifetime! I know it's not cheap but it's worth every penny. My attitude was you got to do it once, but it was so much fun I may do it again!
We had a great pilot and an excellent time! The trip was just as it is described. It was all so professionally done that we felt safe. Of course the scenery was above expectations...amazing. In order to really
Awesome experience. Perfect way to see the Grand Canyon and experience the majesty of nature at its finest.
Freaking awesome. Indescribable when the helicopter approaches the canyon and you see it for the first time. Put it up there with seeing the pyramids for the first time. Do it
Booked this tour for my fiancés 40th Birthday. First helicopter ride for the both of us and it was an experience we will not forget. The fact that we were able to see so muchNorth and South rim in 45 minutes was worth every penny. Great pictures and memories! Best way to do the Grand Canyon!
Breath-taking experience flying out over the south rim... Maverick Helicopter pilots are informative, personable and fun. A completely memorable experience.
It was awesome! Check in was a breeze. Chris our pilot was great. At all times he was informative and let us know what was happening and what to expect. Sitting at the side window gave us a magnificent view. The Grand Canyon is one thing on your bucket list that needs to be ticked.
I had the front seat so the view was perfect. Pilot was friendly and informative. Weather was perfect. Only thing I would change was getting a little lower/closer....we stayed very high. Still Highly recommend this trip.
If you are visiting the Grand Canyon, this is a must tour! It is expensive, but very worth every penny. To fly above this magnificent wonder of nature is like nothing that can be described in words or photos. Booking was easy, navigation to the airport is quick and the tour company is very friendly and professional. We did a 22 day road trip through the National/State parks of CO, SD, WY, UT, AZ, and saw sooo many beautiful parks and sites-this however, was the highlight of the trip. You won't remember how much you paid for this trip in a year, but you will have the experience of a lifetime that you will never forget. :
