If you are considering this tour, the price may be one of the hesitations. For this tour, it was definitely one of ours. However, for us the price is worth it. Flying for 45 minutes to get from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon versus 4+ hour road trip made this tour worth every penny. Also, EVERY tour guide/pilot/employee of Maverick was top notch. The pilots were extremely knowledgeable and approachable. The tour guides were very, very friendly and seemed to always provide valuable and timely information regarding the tour and what was happening next.
There is an additional charge for a helicopter ride and, if you can swing the extra cash, do not pass this up. The opportunity to see the South Rim up front and personal is a once-in-a-lifetime, awe-inspiring experience. The only drawback to the helicopter ride was the length. It only lasted 25 minutes. I would have loved to have doubled that. Our pilot Scott was simply out of this world. Kind, informative, considerate, and patient he is an employee the folks at Maverick can - and should - be proud of.
Of course, as with any trip we have been on, there were a couple of things we would have liked to have seen done better. The meal that was provided was average at best. Also, the trip from the airport to the Grand was on a tour bus with wooden bench-like seating, Though quaint, they were very uncomfortable. Finally, the time spent actually AT the Grand Canyon was only one hour. for some, that may be enough, but for us this national treasure needed another hour or so to take it all in.
Overall, if you are looking for a way to maximize your valuable time at Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon, I highly recommend you consider booking a tour with Maverick!!! I honestly believe you will be glad you did!
This trip was amazing from start to finish. The Maverick crew does a great job of getting you from place to place and being informative in the process. And the Grand Canyon is not to be believed. The folks at Maverick get our HIGHEST recommendation.
Great flight to the South Rim with Maverick Airlines. The pilots where amazing and the Marverick orginization is top notch.
Everything is organised from your motel pick up and return to the tour itself, the guides and pick up drivers are all experienced and passionate about Vegas and the Canyon and provided great tips for our remaining days
When you book for the fixed wing flight try to seek a seat that is not over the wing as this will restrict your ability to take photos of the amazing scenery on route
Best day trip option for those with just a day to spare. Well organized and you get to see key points of this wonder of world
This tour was amazing. It was well organized, and Viator communicated very well every piece of information I needed to know. They had Maverick lined up to provide us with all of the pieces of the tour, and clearly Viator communicated very well with Maverick, and every step went smoothly, from hotel pick up to the drop off at the end. It was clear that they went above and beyond to provide us with the best vacation possible, and they tried hard to make us feel special. I would highly recommend.
This was an awesome day. Pilots were kind and friendly. About a 40 minute flight from Vegas !!! Trolley driver was also fun and informative. Jus a great day !
Great tour. Extremely professionally run program and the staff was excellent. This was worth every penny spent. Views of the canyon are breathtaking.
If you want to see the grand canyon and are short on time this is the way to do it. We had a great time on this tour.
Amazing tour from Las Vegas to the most interesting part of Grand Canyon. A short flight and then the bus tour with 2 stops for an hour each. it's enough time to have a good look to the canyon and buy some souvenirs. I left the hotel at 8:30 am and I've been back about 4 pm. Highly recommended tour if you don't want to spend time on the long bus journey.
Worth every cent! Could not recommend any more. Every element of the day was organized to a tee. Every member of staff was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. For anyone unsure whether to go the extra mile and take the plane to th Grand Canyon.....do it! You wont be dissapointed!
Although you won't be spending much time in each of the park location you visit, about 1 hour staying in places, the best thing about this tour was the airplane trip.
Not only does it makes the day more productive, as you will be back in the middle of the afternoon and be able to do more stuff, you will have a amazing a privilege view of the canyon and the environment from above, it's quite a unique scenery.
Excellent and service and a great experience. A great way to see the South Rim from Las Vegas.
We chose the South rim due to research suggesting this was the true Grand Canyon, not the tourist side. Since the South rim is controlled by the National Park Service, you can not fly into the canyon by helicopter but the plane ride there was awesome and the views were magnificent! On the flight over, the pilots let us go into the cockpit and see the view they had which was definitely a highlight for me. The box lunch we had was delicious and everyone was friendly. I wish we could have had more time there but our time in the Vegas area was limited. Definitely recommend this tour and tour group!
We were so looking forward to this experience and it didnt disappoint. As it turned out we had a private tour for our party of 6 people. The views are breathtaking and all the staff are polite and professional. Next time I will wear an extra layer of clothing!
Great trip and the entire time we were on the plane out to the Canyon and the entire time we were on the Helicopter we were treated to a great and informative tour. Great guides very personable and made the trip.
Good tour if you have limited time. Helicopter flight was quite short but did have full visibility.
