On this tour you will experience the best of both: a swamp tour and an airboat ride. You will travel at high speeds in the airboat then slow down and stop for pictures. Along the way, you will get a personal tour by your local Captain. These airboats have stadium seating, so that the person in front of you does not obstruct your view. Every airboat seat is great for experiencing the tour and viewing the wildlife. Yes, gators will get close, real close. So close that you will be able to look into those reptilian eyes.
Alligators do hibernate in the colder months, but the experienced captains know where to look for them. On average, during the winter, you have better than a 50/50 chance of seeing a gator. In the warmer months, you will always see a gator. Every New Orleans Airboat Tour is unique and you never know what will be around the next corner. The area toured is a combination of Swamp, Marsh and Lake. So you may see anything from a Bald Eagle to a Pelican to Osprey our even an Owl, its that diverse. The airboats are driven by a 454 Chevy Engine that will produce speeds of up to 35 miles an hour. They are propelled by a huge fan that will blow air from the back of the boat in excess of 200 miles an hour. These tours are truly a blast! They ride in inches of water and go places where traditional boats cannot go. The boats were designed to take you to inaccessible areas of the swamp, places that you cannot reach by foot or car. It is a unique experience.

Absolutely loved this tour. Think we got the best tour guide. He was so passionate about his home town, so knowledgeable and so passionate about the environment. Loved the speed. Felt totally safe with the driver. Would certainly recommend this tour
We didn’t know what to expect, but this turned out to be one of the best tours my partner and I did while in New Orleans. Our boat driver was Michael who was the best! He was really funny and very knowledgeable about everything we asked him. The boats can actually fit about 10 people but ours was a small group so feels like we got special attention. The scenery is beautiful and of course you see alligators - sometimes very up close. Splurge on the price as this includes transportation and having to avoid navigating New Orleans traffic. Thank you for a great tour!!!
This excursion was awesome! The scenery was beautiful our captain Dewey was the absolute best! He knew a lot about the bayou and swamp and we saw awesome wildlife! Would do this again in a heartbeat!
What a fun addition to our trip! We saw plenty of gators, got a few splashes! (Aka Cajun AC!!). Our guide was fun and gave a great education. The transportation to and from our hotel was perfect! Highly recommend!!!
New Orleans is amazing but sometimes can be a little claustrophobic. This tour is a great change of pace for your vacation. Our tour guide Rocky was friendly, knowledgable and appeared to be in his element. He seemed to have bonded with multiple gators, which he named and was able to get them on the boat for a bit. We were even lucky enough to hold baby gators. Truly a wonderful experience. Highly recommended.
Brilliant trip. Exciting and fun ride. Driver and guide was informative friendly and fun. Answered all and any questions. I would do this trip again just for the fun of it. Saw loads of gators and evan got to hold a small one as well. Guide was very knowledgeable as well.
The small boat tour was great. Beautiful scenery. Lots of gators. Knowledgeable guide. Transportation from hotel to tour location and back was good.
The small boat tour and guide were amazing. I didn't know what to expect but the up close nature of the tour is truly enjoyable and our tour guide was really charming.
We had an amazing experience! The tour guide was excellent, very knowledgeable. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour or guide!
Dewey was outstanding and we all had an amazing experience on the 9 passenger tour! We highly recommend this tour and will tell everyone about it!
The airboat was a blast. The guide was a true local - very knowledgeable and lively. Saw lots of gators and turtles too! Beautiful nature preserve. Highly recommend on the NOLA to-do list!
Had an amazing time on the Louisiana open airboat swamp tour. Captain Chaz was great. Saw many gators and wildlife. This is a must❤
Our guide Chaz (Paco) was excellent!!
I would definitely recommend the small airboat swamp tour to anyone who visits New Orleans!!!
This was an amazing excursion! Our guide, Rocky, was very knowledgeable and entertaining..... he made sure to get ya up close to the alligators and made efforts to try and track other animals for us to see! The small airboat excursion is the nest way to go if you don’t mind paying a little extra.... the group is smaller and more intimate so you get more personalized attention! Thank you Rocky!!
The bus ride out to the swamp airboat tour was way too long, so many stops and for long periods of time. We were on the bus for 1 1/2 hours. Coming back was much better.
The tour was awesome! Best part of our trip to the Cresent City. The staff was great and we learned all about the area and about the gators.
This was, by far, the most fun tour in my NOLA vacation (our if 8). Our tour guide, Chaz, was funny and phenomenal. Thanks for the experience!
Highly recommend this tour. I have not done the Large Boat Tour but from my understanding they are limited where they can go. We were able to go into very small tight locations. Our guide Brad was very knowledgable of the area and showed us at least 10 alligators plus much other swamp wildlife.
I really enjoyed the swamp tour. It is worth it to do the Airboat. Fun, beautiful sights and you can really feel like you are about to be eaten by a gator....just kidding.
