Excellent trip! Captain Emmet was very funny and knowledgable. We saw lots of wildlife including gators, wild boars, snakes, turtles, raccoons etc.
I would highly recommend going on tour!
Never a dull moment! Ask about Oreo, the swamp pig. Stumpy too! Jacob, our guide was very knowledgeable, insightful, and he made the tour extremely interesting. I heard and learned so much about not just the swamp, but the wetlands areas of Louisiana from Jacob! He and the other tour guides on the other boats talked and teased each other was the boats past each other indicating these guys really like their job and sharing their swamp habitat knowledge. Very insightful and picturesque tour! Wild life in abundance! I took excellent photos!
Great experience! Chris was an excellent tour guide! Very funny and extremely knowledgable of the swamp. Saw several gators, birds, coons and even 5 feral hogs!!The entire family had a blast! Would highly recommend this tour!!
Gary was our tour guide and he did a great job. Entertaining and informative. Would definitely recommend.
I suggested this after seeing the reviews and so glad I did! Me and my girlfriends had an amazing time and would recommend his to anyone !! Staff was great and everything was well organized!
Grandson and I had a wonderful trip into the bayou and swamp. Our guide was entertaining and shared much information about the area and wildlife. Great family experience!
Great tour. The guide was very knowledgeable. Since it was cold outside we didn't get to see the gators. Bring a jacket if you decide to go in January. The wind can be a little strong.
Very good tour! Our guide was great and explained a lot of things about the wild life and the vegetation in the bayou and swamp.
The boat captain was excellent. He really took his time to point out interesting sites and wild life. He ensure we got good pictures. We loved it!
Our guide was so knowledgeable having grown up within a rock-throw of the dock. Though it was too cold to see 'gators, he still found us one, and wild boars, too. Knew the trees, birds, and animals. I'm not surprised people get lost, but he knew every twist and turn. Had a great time! Great tour!
Very interesting tour to see the swamps. The tour guide was humorous and gave lots of good information about the swamp and was able to answer all the questions. Great half-day trip out of the city.
i was accompanied by my 75 year old mother, my sister and brother-in-law. We all had an absolute ball!!! So much beauty and information all in one exciting adventure! Our guide was amazing and the wildlife did not disappoint.
We had so much fun. It was a bit scary having the gators come close to the boat but as long as they were given marshmellows they were fine LOL!! We were told we went at a good time because the alphas, whom are normally away, were actually around we got to see a few of them. I will definitely say IT IS HOT OUT THERE!!! Bring water and lots of it and wear breathable clothing.
Great trip! Our swamp tour guide was informative, entertaining and went the extra mile to make the trip memorable. Highly recommend!
Our guide was AMAZING to say the least! He was funny and witty with a wealth a knowledge! There was nothing about this tour that my family and I didn't like or appreciate. We saw all the wildlife promised plus so much more! We will definitely recommend this tour to anyone and everyone who vacations in New Orleans, it is well worth your time. Jewel was our tour guide and I highly recommend him!
We were picked up close to our hotel in the French Quarter and shuttled in a comfortable bus. Upon arriving at the Bayou there was a building with the basic needs of beverages, toilet, and souvenirs. Everything was well organized and we soon headed to our appointed boat captained by a local who grew up in the area. Interesting stories were parceled out to the group while we searched for a hungry gator. Sure enough one was lured to the boat using marshmallows as bait. Soon the gator was jumping out of the water chomping down on a piece of hot dog. Great photo op to impress your family and friends. We then ventured out to a more secluded area where the the reeds and trees began to surround us on all sides and quite seeped into the boat. In my mind there was the faint guitar riff of CCR floating through my mind... Born on the Bayou, Born on the Bayou. Soon we were headed back to dry land and loadied back into the shuttle home. It was sometime later as I was contemplating our great adventure while slurping down some delicious gulf oysters and crisp white wine, the tune came back to me...
Wish I was back on the bayou rollin' with some Cajun Queen.
Wishin' I were a freight train, oh, just a-chooglin' on down to New Orleans.
So I say do it. Head on down, jump on a boat, take that gator pic, and get your Bayou on! You'll be glad you did
Tour was great, guide was great, weather was fantastic. Really enjoyed the knowledge sprinkled with the right amount of humor! Would recommend this location and tour tall my friends without hesitation!
Our tour guide, Al, was the best!!! My two boys, aged 15 and 11, tell everyone here in MN that their favorite part of our New Orleans trip was the Swamp tour. While I told them to expect to see alligators, we had no idea we'd see wild boars and their babies hanging out with raccoons deep in the bayou! We also saw amazing birds, like the crown-crested heron, etc. Al knew all the wildlife and he was even an expert on the flora, which is my interest. I would highly highly highly recommend this tour for everyone--even NOLA natives who've never done a swamp tour. It's so educational and exciting. And not only was Al an expert on the flora, fauna, and piloting his flatboat, but he had a delightful sense of humor. I'd give this ten stars!
