We just took this tour last week, 4/4/19, and loved it. Our first exposure to giant Redwoods- I liked it that they limited the cars being able to park up there, so the tour bus was great, and the driver was very knowledgeable about the history of the area. Would highly recommend this Viator tour for young and old.
He was humorous, knowledgeable and was a safe driver on the curvy uphill roads. Forest was beautiful and calm. Gift shop and coffee shop was a nice touch for the ride home. Take the ferry in Sausalito if possible for great pictures and memories.
Awesome trip would recommend it to anyone who likes to hike! It was well worth the trip. I’d definitely recommend the tour , driver was very friendly and knowledgeable. Tour operators at the office were friendly and would use this company again. Tower Tours thank you.
Aaron was great and full of interesting facts. Very easy to book the tour and when we had to make a change they were super nice about it.
Even though native of San Francisco found entire tour very informative and helpful, driver/tour guide experience was quite evident. very enjoyable. Felt very secure and safe throughout drive from and return to San Francisco. Would recommend to family and friend.
The perfect trip to take if you have just a few hours. So beautiful. We chose to take the ferry back from Sausalito. Excellent day!
We book this tour for our stop in San Francisco on a cruise and we're very happy with both the company and the tour itself. When we book the tour offered hotel pick up we inquired about how we would go about meeting the bus to the woods. Within an hour we had received an email back with directions to the office from the cruise terminal. It was about a 10 minute walk from the location of the ship.We had originally book this tour for 3 individuals but about a week before the tour one member of our party found out that he could no longer attend, so we sent in a request for our reservation to be modified and for a partial refund for him. Within 12 hours we received notification that our reservation was updated and a refund was put on our credit card. When we got on the bus for the tour we're pleasantly surprise that our driver (Willy) gave a tour/information of the city on the way to and from the woods which was about 40 minutes each way. We had about a hour and half at the woods which was enough time for us to do some of the trails and have some time in the gift shop.
Patrick our bus driver and tour guide during the bus ride was awesome! He gave us some extra time to explore Muir woods and it was greatly appreciated!
Driver was awesome pick up and drop offs were on schedule. Woods were beautiful l love getting out in nature.
The bus trip to Muir Woods was nice. The driver shared a lot of interesting facts and stories along the way. I wish the stay in Muir Woods was longer than 90 minutes.
The driver was knowledgeable and his driving was careful. The park speaks for itself. We had just enough time at the park to enjoy the beauty it offers.
Our Driver Igor was very knowledgeable about the San Francisco area, one of the first groups of the day we found Muir Wood very peaceful and relaxing. A Must do if your in San Francisco!!
Everyone was helpful - loved Al the bus driver - knew a lot about the area and gave a great commentary. The trip was worth the time and effort - the Redwoods were amazing. A once in a lifetime experience. We would look at taking another tour with Tower Tours.
Loved this tour. The bus ride was quite the adventure and the driver was great.
My tour guide was Aaron he was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about the history of San Francisco and of the Muir Woods. He told personal anecdotes that were very funny that made the tour even more special. I would definitely recommend this tour. I would take the tour that leaves in the afternoon the woods are much less crowded at that time.
This was the perfect break from our city vacation. We got an hour and a half to hike in the woods, which was more than enough time to complete the full loop hike and stop in the gift shop. Beautiful drive and our driver was very knowledgeable and nice. We stopped in Sausalito to eat lunch and took the ferry back--highly recommend! Don't worry about booking the ferry ahead of time unless you'll be traveling in the high season and even then it's probably fine.
Our Russian guide was very informative with constant commentary on the tour both going to Muir Woods and returning to San Francisco. We think he did a very good job giving us an overview of all the areas we pass through on the tour. Probably the most important part of the tour was the weather - it was perfect. The temperature was in a range of 50 in the morning to maximum of 70 during the day. Everybody mentioned to be careful of your travel dates because the rain and/or fog can change the experience. Perhaps planning your trip around the weather would be important. Also, off season has fewer crowds which makes the experience that much better.
