Returns to original departure point
Meet the boat crew at the Port Allen Marina Center, where you’ll board a 14-person rigid-hull inflatable raft, custom-designed and outfitted for your safety and comfort. Store your personal items in a provided dry bag before you embark on your 5.5-hour extreme adventure, coasting past lush valleys and famous movie locations along Kauai’s Na Pali coast.
Along the way, the crew share their local knowledge of Kauai and marine life you may encounter. Keep an eye out for spinner dolphins skimming the waves and sea turtles surfacing, as well as humpback whales on their seasonal migration route (December to April).
When conditions permit, your captain expertly maneuvers the motorized craft into sea caves and under cascading waterfalls. You’ll stop at Nu‘alolo Kai, one of Kauai’s best reefs, inaccessible from land and reached only via small vessel. Under the watchful eye of your crew, dive into the water from the boat to snorkel over the reef, which teems with tropical fish (gear and instruction provided).
After the snorkel stop, approximately midway through the tour, dig into a prepared picnic-style meal on board, including a gourmet deli sandwich (choice of roast turkey, honey-baked ham or roast beef on a French roll), fresh seasonal fruit, chips and homemade chocolate chip cookies. Vegetarian sandwiches (hummus and avocado) or a gluten-free option of tossed salad with turkey are available on request. Juices, soft drinks and bottled water are available throughout the tour.
If you selected the afternoon tour, enjoy sunset views to end your half day on the water.

I was most excited about this activity during my short trip to Kauai recently. I don't think I did enough research into what I should bring, but a beach towel was the thing I overlooked and needed to buy one from Kauai Sea Tours for $25. You are given a dry bag to hold the things you want to keep dry. I suggest brining a few snacks if you can. They provide many cold drinks so don't worry about that. I had a waterproof case for my phone and kept my phone out the entire time to capture many photos.
Onto the tour itself... Breathtaking. Incredible views of Kauai. Our captains were Nono and Collin and they shared many stories and many facts about the island, safety, sea life, folklore and just general good advice. They were full of silly puns and quick whips. They seriously made this experience an incredible one.
The caves we visited were out of this world, they pulled up and into some. They pulled up to many pods of Spinner dolphins and right up to waterfalls. They warned us that the water may be murky, as it was. It was not the best snorkel, but the ride there more than made up for it.
Now, the ride back. I had a great time, but I have to admit it was right at my limit in terms of physical strength and general will. It was very rough and bouncy and I needed to grip the raft rope with both hands for dear life or I would have been knocked off. I am in my thirties and in good shape, but I was sore for days after that boat ride. For a span of about 25 minutes I had water constantly splashing my face and ears and I could not let go of the rope to wipe it off or I would have flown off even with my "feet belt." I am sharing this because I would have loved a heads up to bring ear plugs to spare my ears from getting flooded. Would I do this all again, IN A HEART BEAT and time and time again. Small price to pay for a view of a lifetime. All I can tell you is, DO IT! You won't regret it!
This was an awsome experience and I would definitely recommend this to everyone! If possible request Corrie he was the absolute best guide and made the trip so much fun #corriesthebest
The Na’pali Coast is gorgeous! I was hoping for some more rough adventure, as was advertised. A child was sleeping on the pontoon.
We were unable to go into the cave for safety reasons, but I feel like a more experienced captain would have done it. The snorkeling was too short and not great.
The raft to snorkeling is not for cowards. It is ROUGH. Either shorten the trip or plan to take it easier coming back.. It was a great experience to see all the coves and caves and hear the history but for 45 minutes of snorkeling the 3 hours and 15 minutes of pounding on the pontoons was really tough. Our group of 12 ranged in age from 8 to 71..It was hard on everyone.. We were told before we started that if we had medical issues this was not our trip but no expalnation of WHY and once you are on board--it's too late..You have already paid in advance too..
This was an amazing addition to our honeymoon and a must do!! We were a little nervous at first because they made it sound risky and super freaky / exciting but the ocean was super nice and our captain was honestly so amazing and knowledgeable. This is the best way to see the coast! You will get wet
Way too choppy to go out. Held on for dear life. Couldn't do the caves due to the currents
We were both very sore. The snorkel didn't meet our expectations but that's no ones fault
Our crew was great thank you Phil and Jamie we did not get to snorkel due to the murky water but they told us stories of the island including movie scenes as well as cultural. We went into a few sea caves including one that had a floating rock in the middle that we went around! The food was great and we felt safe all the time. It does say if you have a bad back don't go and that is true so if you have any doubts at all about your back don't go cause in the raft when you hit a wave it can come down hard. We definitely will be back :
Tour guides were the highlight of the trip! Super fun people with alot of island knowledge. Dont take this tour if your focus is on snorkling. You dont snorkle very long on this tour and the ride along the coast makes up the bulk of the tour. When the waves are up the ride is fun and exciting. Took us into a couple of neat caves and also saw some gorgeous sights in areas you can only view by boat.
