After launching the kayaks, your guide provides a lesson on paddling and safety before leading you on a narrated trip around the bay in search of manatees and dolphins, a common sight in these waters. Then head through shady tunnels where you will see more wildlife as you kayak under an amazing canopy formed by mangroves.
The kayaks are easy to manage and very stable, and they feature a hull shape that increases glide and ease of paddling. Life jackets and paddles are provided.

Our tour was wonderful though we would have preferred more time in the mangrove tunnel than we had. Because of the narrow waterway in the tunnel, it was difficult to feel like we were able to get much eco-information, but our guide did try. The time was split approximately 50/50. Our guide, Mark, was quite knowledgeable and amiable, and provided information and humor throughout the tour. I'd definitely recommend it. DO find out directions somehow ahead of time; it took us four or five times to actually track down a route/directions to the area. It's simple and close by the Circle, but Viator didn't help with any directions.
It was a wonderful experience! It was the first time I had ever gone kayaking. Our tour guide, Rich, was incredibly helpful and informative. He gave us interesting tidbits about the history of the area. On the tour, we saw dolphins, manatees, birds and fish. My husband, our two boys 10 and 5 and I rode in two tandem kayaks and we had a great time. I would do it again in a heartbeat and we're even planning to buy kayaks to use at home!
Chris was our tour guide, and I would recommend taking the tour. We had people in our group from beginner to experienced and he made sure everyone took something from our trip. Even if you are experienced in other areas of the US take this tour! Learning about the wildlife and how the Lido beach area was formed and used was interesting. We had people in our group that needed a little help and he was right there. He also lets you have some freedom if you are not a tour person,. The view of how the 1 lives from the water was nice too. I have my retirement home picked out..... now only I need to win lotto.
It was an amazing experience. Very professional knowledgeable staff. Beautiful scenery. Equipment is in great shape. Highly recommend this trip.
We had a great time with iKayak. We had an up close encounter with a manatee. The Mangrove Tunnels were a blast. Thanks to Mark our guide who was both entertaining and informative. He made sure the trip was both relaxed and safe. Wonderful afternoon!
This was an great experience - well worth it. Lots to see and very informative. Our guide, Mark, was excellent - as a Sarasota native, knows the territory and history, and we were lucky to navigate the waters carefully to see the a family of manatees. I would highly recommend this experience.
Great kayaking and a wonderful way to get to experience the natural beauty of Florida!
Chris was a fabulous tour guide! What a terrific trip. This is a must do on your vacation or even if you live in the area. We are coming back to do again, saw cool birds and manatees. Chris was very friendly and knowledgeable. I'll request him next time! Thank you!!!
The tour was great. Mark our guide was awesome. I had never kayaked before and it was very easy, would so do this again. We even say a manatee on our trip which was so cool. Do the morning tour, since it's Florida and it gets hot.
Saw dolphins swimming in pairs, lots of birds and sea life as we took the kayak tour with Mark. The mangrove tunnels are magical and you will be glad you brought a camera. There is nothing scary in the water. Alligators like fresh water and we were kayaking in salt water. Mark is a great guide funny! and a Sarasota native. This Mangrove tunnel kayak eco-tour was the highlight of our trip! Thanks to Mark, we also went up to the Great Bend Power Plant to see the manatees.
We had a great time. Our guide was very knowledgeable about all the birds and fish we saw on our trip. The water is completely clear and clean. The mangrove tunnels are beautiful and fun to navigate through.
Really great trip! Very easy paddle. Loved the Mangrove tunnels - very peaceful!
Great guide and beautiful area. Unfortunately, we didn't see any wildlife of the fish variety. But the kayaking experience was quite enjoyable.
This was an excellent tour. Chris was a great guide who answered all of our questions. He pointed out the various wildlife and seemed to truly love his job.
Knowledgeable, friendly, caring, environmentally conscious guides. Beautiful area and breathtaking wildlife.
