Our Captain was the Best. Took the time to explore our findings and make sure we had fun. He had the Dolphins swimming and jumping in our wake. So awesome!!
A really nice way to spend a morning. It was informational on the way to and from the island and the shelling was great. We saw dolphins playing near the boat and in the wake. We had fun.
A wonderful trip from start to finish . . . with a very well-versed tour captain.
The ecotour was awesome. Our guide was so knowledgeable, he even teaches classes at Coast Guard. Lived seeing lots of wild birds, alligators, dolphins and shelling/exploring on Whitehorse Day. Hurricane had damaged the mangroves but some were showing New growth. Hurricane had also thinned the manatees
Stopping at White Horse Key was the best part of the trip, wish we could have stayed longer, many different shells than you normally find around Marco and Naples.
I took my husband, 2 kids 15 and 11 and in-laws on this 3 days ago. It exceeded my expectations and we left nothing short of thrilled w/our experience! We had Captain Mike who was fabulous! He's a Coast Guard instructor and a wealth of information. Plus, he was FUN! He let my kids help drive the boat, which was a highlight. We saw alligators, many herons, a bald eagle and much more. But, by far, the highlight of the trip was when we literally interacted with wild dolphins. Mike was able to get the dolphins to play in the wake of his boat, which meant they were only 3-4 feet away from us! No lie, I cried : So, this was without a doubt, the highlight of our trip and i would highly recommend it. Captain Mike is the best!
It was an absolutely amazing experience. The whole afternoon with captain Bob was a real treat. We saw dolphins, alligators and a manatee and many beautiful birds, highly recommend to everyone.
Great wildlife sighting with easygoing, experienced guide. 4 dolphins played around our boat for 30 mins. Dozen bird species incl. pink spoonbill, gators. Note that manatees haven’t been seen in the region since Irma. May come back in spring.
This was so much fun, from the boat ride itself to the excellent local guide with his knowledge of local fauna. And, yes, we saw a family of manatees.
Enjoyable time on the water with Captain Mike. He was an experienced, knowledgeable guide and boat captain. We saw manatees, dolphins, alligators and ospreys as a highlight.
Fantastic morning on the water with Capt David who was very knowledgeable and had the best 'eagle' eye for spotting wildlife. Saw a Mum and baby Manatee, Alligator and dolphins plus enjoyed 'shell island' complete with turtle nests. Boat was very comfortable, has shade for those who need it and is very stable. Perfect activity for everyone, especially families.
What an amazing day we had! Perfect timing with the weather, too. There were 5 of us on the boat and between all of us this is what we saw among the 10,000 Islands:
Red Mangroves, Black Mangroves, several manatees, including an incredible viewing of a momma and her baby...a newborn just days old riding on her back, 1 stingray, a Lemonhead shark, a few dolphins, a rat snake and various birds even tho most have migrated already there were still plenty of pelicans, white egrets, blue heron, spoonbills and an eagle. saltlifebeauty Thanks, Patrick for setting this weekend up for us
Captain Carl on our boat was excellent ! He took time to find manatees, point out alligators on the shore, and explain the various birds we saw. Great trip !
Our Captain was gracious, knowledgable, and considerate of our needs. We picked a very windy day and he was careful to provide us with a great trip as well as being cautious about our safety. Our family consisted of three generations with the youngest being 3 years old. Everyone had a wonderful time seeing dolphins, manatees, and many birds. The three hours went by quickly and we look forward to a return trip on our next vacation.
My sisters and I took this trip on a gorgeous, sunny, South Florida Friday, at the 12:45 PM timeslot. Captain Steve was knowledgeable and easy to talk to, and provided helpful info on the plants and animals we saw. Whitehorse Key is a lovely little island out at the edge of the Gulf, and we were able to find some interesting shells to bring back with us. The sand is soft and white, and the Gulf a light aqua. While we didn't see much in the way of manatees, we were extremely fortunate to have a bottlenose dolphin join us as we headed back to the marina. He or she played around our boat for several minutes, diving under it and swimming alongside, clearing out its blowhole when surfacing. It was the highlight of our trip! There is also an osprey nest in the hotel parking lot, which had chicks in it. Make sure you check out the nest, too!
Captain was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be on the water with!!
Great way to spend the afternoon. Mike, our captain was very knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour for all ages.
This Ecotour was exactly what I hoped it would be. Captain Mike was great - very knowledgeable about the area, the birds and sea life, and he made the trip a joy for my 88 year old mother who came along with us. We saw tons of wildlife - manatees, birds, alligators, and even a couple of bottlenosed dolphins! I wholeheartedly recommend this tour!
We had a great time with Captain Mike! I was so glad to see this was a genuine tour of the area and to know if we saw native animals and birds it was by the grace of Mother Nature! We were fortunate to see a couple gators and some playful dolphins on our tour as well as several birds, a blue crab and a horseshoe crab! We would definitely do it again! Bring your camera, comfy sand friendly shoes, and sunscreen and enjoy!
