Make every effort to go on this tour to the Magnolia Plantation. The drive to the plantation is pleasant and our tour guide, Alan, was great. We toured the gardens with Alan, rode the tram and met Alan’s wife who introduced us to the plantation building. The tour of the plantation itself was very interesting and the beautiful weather added to this most enjoyable day. Great venue for a wedding!!
This was wonderful. The highlight of my trip. Loved the grounds, the history and the house. The tour guide was great too. He was witty , knowledgeable and theatrical.
Good perspective of 19th century plantation life and all the trials of early European development. Most of the Plantation House is 20th century (even after the 50's) but you get the idea
From the beginning this was a delightful day. Our driver/guide, Alan, was very personable and interesting. He explained the history of the plantation and was able to answer all questions.
I enjoyed both the tram ride and the house tour. I loved seeing the different denizens of South Carolina. I usually don’t like house tours but our guide there blended the right amount of history and furnishing info.
The only minus was a slightly abbreviated garden time with Alan due to other tour participants who wandered off and delayed us!
great place a lot of history. Very good guide in James was very nice and fun. The weather was very nice got to see the whole place
Very relaxing excursion to experience the wonderful Magnolia Plantation. Our guide was quite informative and friendly. Considerable interesting history of the old south. Well worth the effort. Highly recommended!
Great tour of the grounds and the Magnola Plantation house. Our bus guide, Alan, was first-rate; funny but also filled with information!
My husband and I toured with Shawn. He was very knowledgeable. He allowed for time to independently explore the garden or get a bit to eat.
Our bus driver, Bill i think his name was, was wonderful. He was born and raised in Charleston so he knew everything about it. Lots of good history information before we even got to the plantation. It was well worth the money. I highly recommend it.
We had Val as our driver/tour guide and she did a very good job. She shared a lot of history and information with us. We could see that she enjoys her job as she added a lot of humor to entertain us.
Tour was great. Enjoyed the tram ride and the gardens were stunning. Valerie made the bus ride fun!
Her storytelling was memorable!
This was a wonderful tour. There was the right mixture of walking, riding, touring the mansion and free time to explore. Highly recommend it!
Great guide! Loved the tram tour of the swamp and the walk around the gardens was wonderful. I never would have appreciated the gardens without the guide. The tour of the house was interesting but i would have preferred a longer tram ride. The transportation to and from the plantation made everything very smooth and relaxing!!
Such a great day out! Plantation is only half an hour from the pickup at the Charleston Visitor Centre. Tour started with a walk around the grounds with some fascinating facts, then a nature tour on board a little train with wheels, then finished with a tour of the house sadly cannot take any photos inside. When the flowers are in bloom it is very pretty, and lots of wildlife was spotted a few gators, a multitude of birds including an owl and you have about 25 minutes at the end of the house tour to grab lunch/check out the gift shop/have a look at the petting zoo!
This tour was fabulous. The guide was extremely informative and the different parts of the tour was great. We did a tour by foot, trolley and house tour. The tour also allowed 30 minutes to walk around on your own. The additional transportation was key to and from and easy to get to. Highly recommended
Well organised and booked. It included a garden and house tour, along with a trolley via the slave quarters. It was informative, very pretty and a beautiful estate.
My wife and I really enjoyed the tour of the Beautiful Magnolia Plantation tour. The only thing we would have changed is that we would have liked a little more time onsite to look around. We felt a little rushed through the tour but overall it was good.
