Everything was great Fran did a nice job. Great referral to all the food around. I would do it again
This was a great tour. We left completely stuffed. I didnt make it a 5 cause i thought the order was a bit mixed up...the desserts were in the middle of the tour and then we went to seafood and bbq...i think it would have worked better to have the sweets at the end. other than that ....super!
Mary from Bull Dog Tours was fantastic. She walks you to multiple restaurants sampling local cuisine and hearing local history. It was most enjoyable and by the end I was more than full.
This was our 2nd food tour ever and it topped our 1st one that we took in Charleston, SC on Saturday. Our guide, Sol, was great and definitely knew her Miami Beach history! The food at all the stops was fantastic and the variety was amazing as well as plentiful. I highly recommend Miami Food Tours to all.
Excellent choice of food tastings. More than just food.. learn all about how and why the food of Charleston came into being! Awesome
Great food. Awesome guide. Learn all about how the great food came into being in Charleston.
Good variety the quality of the food could have been better in some locations.
If you're a foodie like me, then this is definitely the tour for you.
This was a fun tour. The food we had was great and our tour guide was great fun.
The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Food was great. I would recommend not eating before the tour. There was enough food for a complete meal. Great variety of food for sampling.
Pam was a great tour guide! We got to taste a nice mix of local flavor - my favorite was Jack's BBQ! It started to rain and Pam was kind enough to go and grab some rain poncho's so we wouldn't get too wet as we continued our tour. I would recommend for all who enjoy tasting the local fare.
Cathy and the tour itself were AH-MAZING! We made 5 stops with 3 of them being full service restaurants serving us multiple foods each. She never stopped giving us history, trivia and educational facts the whole time! I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed this tour. You might not stop at the same restaurants depending on the day of the week and the time of day, but I guarantee that you'll be pleased. In addition to the pictures, we also stopped at a spice and tea shop and a candy store with many samples there too.
The flavors of Charleston tour offered a variety of food and a nice bit of history.
The tour begins at the actual building for Bulldog tours. This is much preferred to meeting a guide on a random street corner! There we waited on benches, and were offered free water bottles.
We went to five restaurants. The first was the noisy oyster, where we had hush puppies, fish stew, and red rice. They were the best hush puppies I have ever eaten, and the fish stew surprised me too! Next, we went to the spice and tea exchange. This was interesting...we tried different dips and snacks. I only wish that they would have saved this for last, because some of the seasonings were very strong, and they overwhelmed my palate for the remainder of the trip. Then we went to Market Street Sweets. We have several pieces of samples, such as peanut brittle, bear claws, pralines, etc. These were truly just tastes. Next we went to Low Country Bistro, and had a grilled oyster, a crab cake slider, and a deviled egg slice. I hate oysters, but this was delicious! Lastly, we went to Cumberland Street Smokehouse, where we had a healthy portion of pulled pork, mac and cheese, pork rinds, collard greens, and homemade pickles. The food was good, and the walking portion was not overwhelming, and I traveled while 6 months pregnant! I appreciated the variety of food that was included. They could probably do without the spice exchange, but all places were well-chosen.
Brilliant tour with a very informative guide. We were given history of the city and colony and history of the food influences in the Low Country. Everything we tried was excellent, and I feel that we got a real flavour of the varied food available in Charleston and the Carolinas generally. Amazing flash fried oysters and crab cake slider! I ran out afterwards to buy a local cookery book in order to bring some of the flavours home with me. Thanks so much for a great tour.
Dani was our tour guide and she was very knowledgeable. She is a chef and historical guide and certainly is well informed and has some great stories to share. The food we sampled was amazing and diverse. She was so respectful of all the folks she engaged with. Highly recommend!
Mary was an amazing guide! Loved the tour and we tasted so much delicious food! Would highly recommend the Savor the Flavor tour!
This walking tour is an excellent way to understand the city we did it on our last day. I would recommend you do it at the beginning. The food samples were generous and the history lesson that accompanies these tastes made for an excellent introduction to southern cooking and the city of Charleston.
