Traveler pickup is offered
You will be picked up from your New Orleans Metro Area Downtown/French Quarter/Warehouse District Hotel or Residence.
Please call your local supplier if your hotel or residence is not listed to confirm your pick-up destination and time. We may be able to pick you up from wherever you're staying even though it's not listed.
Hotel pickups commence prior to this time, you must contact the local service provider to verify your exact pickup time.
This is the point of the tour where you are offered some Lagniappe, a little something extra. We would be more than happy to drop you off at any Downtown New Orleans area destination or we can drop you back off from where we picked you up.
You will be picked up in front of your hotel by a 15-passenger van. Please be ready outside as the the driver will arrive within 5 to 15 minutes of your scheduled time. The tour aims to be as personable and pleasurable as possible so there is usually only eight to 10 people in the van. This tour will always run, rain or shine, no matter the number of people that booked the tour. Traveling via the tour van allows you to be able to see so much more of the city since many other larger vehicles are not allowed to go deep into the French Quarter, the 9th Ward, or the Garden District. Operating with smaller groups and smaller vehicles allows for more interaction. The environment here will allow you to sit back, relax, and feel comfortable. Please ask as many questions as you want.
Some of the places you'll see include French Quarter, Frenchmen Street, Marigny Neighborhood, 9th Ward, Musician's Village, Treme Neighborhood, Esplanade Avenue, Bayou Saint John, City Park, Lake Pontchartrain, 17th Street Canal, Historic Above Ground Cemetery, Carrollton Avenue, Oldest Streetcar in the World, Saint Charles Avenue, Tulane and Loyola Universities, Garden District, Famous Homes, Magazine Street, National WWII Museum, and the Warehouse and Arts District. The tour concludes as you enter the Central Business District.
If you would prefer to be dropped off somewhere in the French Quarter, you can request to do so. Otherwise, you will be brought back to your hotel.
Hotel pick-up is offered for this tour. Note: if you are booking within 24 hours of the tour/activity departure time, we cannot guarantee hotel pick-up. Once your purchase is complete, we will send you complete contact information (phone number, email address, etc.) for our local operator to organize pick-up arrangements.
- Confirmation will be received at time of booking
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours in advance of the start date of the experience.
Lots of information and knowledgable guide
Had confirmed the day before but they forgot to pick us up ..but phone up after the tour was 10 mins late and they came and picked us up
informative and fun even in the teeming rain and thunder, highly recommend, great driver guide comfortable vehicle
Small group tour that was informative, interesting and fun. Had a great time getting to see the city of New Orleans. Our driver and tour guide was very good. Very helpful and made sure everybody got back to where they were going afterwards.
In short, the best tour and tour guide we've encountered in years. From the Ninth Ward to The Garden District and many places in between, our driver/guide Wanda efficiently navigated rainy day metro traffic while never deviating from her flawless and extremely informative narration. The intimacy of an eight passenger van only added to our enjoyment. If you only take one guided tour in NOLA, make it this one. You won't regret your decision.
Pick up from where you're staying really simplifies things. This is such an inclusive tour of the entire city. Tons of history, culture and current information. The tour guide, Wanda, was professional, knowledgeable and entertaining! Don't miss this intimate view of a fabulous city.
Our guide Wanda picked us up at our hotel just after 10. She was wonderful and had a wealth of info to share with us. There was a total of 9 on our tour and it really helped that Wanda had one of those headset microphones so we wouldn't miss a thing she was saying. Loved the stop in city park as well as the beautiful homes in the garden district. Drove past some of the areas affected by Hurr. Katrina and saw many of the markers showing just how high those water levels were. We even took some of Wanda's dining recommendations. New orleans cookery is outstanding! Such an informative tour that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a good look at this great city.
Wonderful tour and fantastic experience! Teddy was so knowledgeable about this wonderful city and we're so glad we took the time to go on the tour. I highly recommend anyone traveling to New Orleans to take this tour. It's probably the best at the beginning of your stay so you can go back to the places that you'd like to explore more but we ended up taking the tour at the end of our stay and it totally helped round out our experience. We had a wonderful time! Thank you!!
This was a great tour of New Orleans! We booked it the evening before and the Viator staff were awesome in helping this happen! We selected this tour because it advertised small groups. Ozzy our tour guide picked us up at our hotel right on time and we were the only people on the tour!! This was an additional bonus! Ozzy was knowledgeable about his city and gave us a great perspective of the city, what happened during Katrina and all of the wonderful things that have happened since. It was a wonderful tour and I highly recommend it! It was 3 hours well spent!!!
The van was clean and audio was clear and easily understood. Again...Ozzy was a great tour guide and I highly recommend this tour!
We took this tour the morning after we arrived - it was well worth it - the driver was very informative, knew the areas, gave a lot of information and it gave us a great idea of where we wanted to go back and see more of those areas.
Half of our group did this tour. Loved it. Very informational and it was nice to get out of the Fr. Qtr. to see the rest of New Orleans, see some very interesting architecture, a lovely park, stop for coffee plus lots of history and finally understanding how and where the levees failed during Hurricane Katrina. Very glad we did this tour.
Great tour for if you don't have long in the city, and want to learn a lot!
This was a great tour ! We were picked up at our doorstep French Quarter RV Resort and ushered all over New Orleans seeing the sights. This is definitely a tour you should do first day you're in NO so that you can pick up on the places you want to visit in the remaining time you have there. Our tour guide was prompt, courteous and full of knowledge that he shared. He was very easy to listen to and took questions whenever they came up. The van was comfortable and the small group size was great ! We highly recommend this tour.
Great way to see New Orleans. Learned so much about the city, its history, culture and highlights. Driver was pleasant, knowledgeable, fun, and gracious about answering our questions and seeing that everyone was comfortable.
This was a great tour! The company was very helpful with my last-minute reservations. I loved that they picked us up at our hotel, and dropped us off there afterward. Wanda was a great tour guide and driver, and we saw and learned so many interesting things. I learned a lot about the Katrina flooding, and, although it was sad, I enjoyed seeing the sites she showed us. Interesting that no tours are allowed in the Lower 9th Ward, but we still saw a lot and got good info. Nice small van, too. There were 9 of us.
We had a wonderful tour with Ozzy this week. The tour took us to the key sights with amazing insider information about the Hurricane damage and flooding. The bus was very comfortable and air-conditioned. We saw the Lakeside area and many of the flood damaged areas and homes in 9th Ward. The French Quarter was well covered with plenty of details and history about the varieties of architecture and many aspects of City Park where there was a stop for coffee and beignets and a stroll around the Sculpture Garden at City Park, which is definitely worth a visit.
Ozzy answered all of our questions clearly and with tons of additional info.
The visit to the cemetery and in-depth details of the burial styles and techniques was very informative and very interesting.
Would definitely highly recommend this tour for a historical and in-depth view of New Orleans, we found it to be very comprehensive and interesting and would not hesitate to say that Ozzy has to be the best guide we have come across in our travels.
We left Ozzy with tons of recommendations for restaurants and things to do, we will continue to enjoy New Orleans, what a great city, lots to see and do here!
This was a great way to get an overview of the city with an experienced and very knowledgeable local guide. The van was able to easily take us where a tour bus would have been awkward, and we saw everything we hoped to see in this interesting and beautiful city. However, the streets of New Orleans are not smooth, so I strongly recommend that you avoid sitting in the back seat if you have back or neck issues!
This was probably the best tour of New Orleans we could have taken. It covers a lot of the city both physically and historically. Ozzie gave us wonderful insight to the local situations. It was very well structured and moved quickly. I highly recommend taking this historical tour .
This tour was so informative, fun and just long enough! We were picked up at our French Quarter hotel and just had 2 other people on our tour. Our driver, Wanda was so informative and explained things as we were driving by - even the smallest details did not do missed. She covered the French Quarter, history, dining restaurants, Garden Districts history and details on celebrity homes in the area, political workngs of the past, LaFayette Cemetery No.1, history of NOLA traditions then took us to the 7th and 9th ward and we were able to see a home that has been preserved from Hurricane Katrina, she took us to the walls that broke and filled us in on so much history on Katrina, thr city itself and plenty of great information on so many areas to see and do! Great tour and I highly recommend it!
