DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS TOUR. If you are going to only hear about marine ecosystem then this is the tour for you and the tour guides area very knowledge about this. If you are lucky you will see some dolphins which are nice to watch. The water in the bay looks nasty!! If you are also looking forward to "looking for a variety of seashells at the beach on the shelling island" then You Will be TERRIBLY DISAPPOINTED!! You are taken to a small island and told you have only a limited amount of island space to search for shells due to the rest of the island is privately owned and told to stay off the private property. Due to the tour company taking daily trips to this island there are NO good seashells to search for. The shelling beach consisted of sand and broken seashells. If you area looking for clear beautiful water and a nice variety of seashells you will have much better luck visiting the local public beaches in the area.
The total amount of time was to be 4 hours-it basically consists of boat time-should be renamed to scenic cruise-had ONLY 44 minutes on the beach-I love Florida wildlife but people on the boat acted like they had never seen s dolphin before-most time was spent sitting on the boat trying to listen to biologist over talk children who kept talking-there were people who basically rushed to get on boat-all I wanted was an outside seat-I got stuck being in middle -no air flow-someone had an odor as well-suggestion Take less people-rename it as well as description-maybe offer a family or kid friendly cruise ONLY-this cruise not ideal for relaxation
Capt Gail n Laura were an absolute delight. It was as educational as it was beautiful I totally recommend the dolphin n shelling cruise great for all ages!!
Thanks again Capt Gail n Laura!!
Knowledgeable and entertaining crew. Lots of dolphins and wildlife. The three hours fly by.
Charter was professionally managed, on time and very informative. Unexpectedly, we had a special guest marine biologist on board to answer all the kids questions. Captain did a great job getting the dolphins to follow our boat. Highly recommended for a short half day sight seeing trip with the kids.
Great trip, excellent staff who really knew the area and the local wildlife.
We will definitely book this trip again next time we are in Fort Myers Beach area.
Their definitely plenty of dolphins to see. The crew was excellent and very informative of the region. Altogether it was a great experience.
It was so much fun!!! The Host and Hostess knew a tremendous amount of information about the vegetation and wild life!!! they also know exactly where to go to get the dolphins to swim and jump along side of the boat!!!!!! It was so exciting!!!! Aaaaaaa!!!!!! We Have so many shots and videos of the dolphins jumping out of the water!!!!!!
As for the shelling portion, upon arrival there is no docking station but they do provide a short ladder and plenty of there assistance... And this is probably asking a little too much of little me but a beach comber maybe twice a year to clean up some of the old shell shards, that way your customers can enjoy a little more of the beach maybe..... Other than that. The staff was WONDERFUL!!!!!!! We all had a BALL!!!!! I Highly recommended it!!!!!
You actually come back with decent shells!!!!! very happy!
This is a most due excursion! The captain and first mate were very knowledgeable, kind and helpful. They gave us a tour to the mangrove islands on the bay explaining the diversity of bird species and why they choose this environment to nest. Our next destination was a secluded beach were we could find the shells that made famous this place. We were not disappointed as there was an endless collection of them. The very knowledgeable crew will explain the characteristics of some of them, enphasasing to return to the sea, the ones with habitants. In our way back the captain scouted for delfins, after a while we found a couple of them that will followed the boat as it accelerate in the calm waters of the bay. Overall a great time! We never felt rushed and we were able to enjoy the trip.
Great crew, saw many dolphins, shelling was great, one the best tours I've taken
it was a great experience for me and the three children with me. They were ages 8, 11 and 13 and pleasing all three can be a challenge. The Captain and the guide were fun and knowledgeable and a joy to spend time with.
We had at least 5 dolphin encounters, several manatee sightings, a very educational visit to a rookery, and some pretty good shelling on the island. Both the captain and his assistant seemed to really be enjoying the tour. This must be difficult to make a trip that they do daily seem so exciting for them but they definitely pull it off.
This was a Mother's Day treat! Captain Gale and naturalist, Phil, did not disappoint. Their goal was our edification and enjoyment. We saw many wildlife species and stopped at private pristine beach with lots of beautiful shells and a view that reminds us of what a development-free landscape really looks like! We hated to see the tour end--fabulous.
We enjoyed the tour very much. The dolphins surfing on the boat wake was pretty spectacular. Not much shelling but a pretty island to stop at.
My husband and I went on this tour while visiting relatives in Ft. Myers. It was an amazing experience. Our tour guide and captain of our boat were very fun and knowledgeable. We saw many dolphins, some of which actually were surfing in the waves from our boat. When we got to the private island for shell collecting, it was absolutely beautiful. We brought home many shells, including some beautiful conch ones. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.
The tour was very organized and informative. They delivered everything as promised. My kids loved all the dolphin interaction. Would have given 5 stars but the captain and first mate were not very engaged with the passengers and didn't do anything exceptional. I would recommend this to a friend.
Great outing and we saw six dolphins and various bird species. I would highly recommend this outing for a break in your day!
Crew was very personable and nice. They had good knowledge of the area and a good sense of humor. We go to see several dolphins, including having 3 of them surf our wake for a brief period, which was really fantastic! Shell stop was mediocre as we were already staying on a beach with similar characteristics but would be fun for someone not already staying in a similar location. We were on the morning trip, which I think is best to see the dolphins!
