Stop At: Laura Plantation: Louisiana's Creole Heritage Site, 2247 Highway 18, Vacherie, LA 70090-5409

Laura, A Creole Plantation has a rich and unique history, from the home itself to the women that ran it. Uniquely enough, the plantation is now named after one of those very women. These tours were educational and a genuine pleasure. Our guide at Laura Plantation was a true storyteller!

The history at Laura was EXTRAORDINARY! Our guide was highly informed and shared in a manner we could all keep up with! Oak Alley was beautiful but the lack of original furnishings and history was lackluster.

A great tour with super knowledgeable staff. The plantation staff were so passionate! It’s a must-do tour for anyone to help understand the checkered history of the south.

I appreciated that they accommodated our need for a different pick up site. Was very impressed with the guides at each house. You could tell they were passionate about the history and saving the stores of. These houses.

What a great way to get out of the city and experience these historical plantations! I did not have a car, so this was a great option! As I was not staying in NOLA proper, I took a taxi into the city and met the tour bus at Hucks Restarant per the tour lines guidance. While I was waiting, I had a Mimosa, which is a great way to start the day when you are on vacation! The tour bus arrived on time and after a drive through the French qtr to pick up the rest of the folks, we headed out of town. It was great seeing the country side and the plantations were beutiful and the information provided was very interesting. Book it, you won't regret it!

Great tour! Saw 2 different plantations. The guides on both plantations were very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. Tour was scheduled perfect with times for own exploration and to grab a snack. The only con ..... I must admit the hotel pick up is nice and you do get to see some of the city your not staying in. Our hotel was in the Garden district, most people seem to stay in the French Quarter which add on an hour on both ends of out tour. Might be nice to also have a central pick up/ drop off zone for people who wish to do this

The tour was well organised. Our pick up point was in the French Quarter and the bus went direct to the destination after a few more hotel pickups along the way. The Oak Alley and Laura plantations were very different and it was worthwhile and an interesting contrast to see both. The guides at the plantations were provided by the establishments and both were good, particularly at Laura.

Highly recommended.

A wonderful day. Laura was really special. I would have liked more time at Oak Alley, you basically have a very fast tour through the house for about 30 minutes then have to race back to the bus to get back to town.
Our guide at Laura Plantation, Renee, was fantastic. a beautiful place with a rich history.

These plantations were quite majestic, especially Oak Alley Plantation. Those mighty oak trees lining the entrance to the plantation are truly a sight to behold. A thorough history of the plantation and it's residents was also provided. Definitely worth doing. Our driver; John did a great job.

The tour was great. The people at each plantation had lots of information for us. the Laura Plantation had a lot of history but The Oak Alley had history plus beauty. The amount of time spent at each was good. I did not feel rushed. The bus driver was good also.
