Pass By: Columbia River Gorge, Hood River, OR 97031
Millions of years ago, during the formation of the Cascade Mountain Range, lava and other pyroclastic matter flowed west from what would be the Cascades all the way to the Pacific Ocean, creating a thick shell of basalt rock that covered Western Oregon. Then, during the Pleistocene Ice Age, roughly 15,000 years ago, water from the Lake Missoula Flood carved out the Columbia River Gorge as hundreds of cubic miles of water, ice, rock and mud rushed from present-day Montana to the Pacific Ocean. Explore the beauty of the canyon walls and rock formations, breathtaking waterfalls and awe-inspiring visas that make the Columbia River National Scenic Area one of the Seven Wonders of Oregon. Our enthusiastic guides will introduce you to the most amazing places in the Gorge, while providing a comprehensive narrative of this spectacular landscape and its transformative history.
Stop At: Vista House, 40700 E Historic Columbia River Hwy, Corbett, OR 97019-9725
Perched atop one of the most panoramic overlooks in the Columbia River Gorge, Vista House provides an unrivaled, majestic view of the Gorge. Often referred to as “The Crown Jewel of the Columbia River Gorge,” Vista House was built between 1916 and 1918 as a memorial to Oregon pioneers, a scenic viewpoint, and a comfort station for those traveling on the newly constructed Historic Columbia River Highway. Built with expertly carved sandstone and stunning marble, then finished with bronze lining and amber-green opalescent art glass windows, Vista House and the view it offers are sure to amaze and inspire you.
Duration: 15 minutes
Stop At: Latourell Falls, Guy W. Talbot State Park., Corbett, OR
While at Latourell Falls You will be able to walk down the trail to the waterfall (approximately 1/4 mile) and get up close to the waterfall. This dazzling waterfall plunges 249 feet (76 m) over a massive wall of basalt and then rushes through the forest into the Columbia River. The falling water of Latourell is framed by some of the most perfect columnar basalt formations in the Pacific Northwest that are adorned with a large florescent patch of yellow lichen and shrouded in brilliant green flora. We’ll venture down to the punch-bowl pool below the falls, where you’ll hear the tremendous rush of water and feel the cool mist that it creates. You’ll easily realize why this special place is one of the most photographed waterfalls in Oregon.
Duration: 20 minutes
Stop At: Multnomah Falls, 53000 E Historic Columbia River Hwy, Bridal Veil, OR 97010
You will have time to walk to Benson Bridge and take photographs and explore the area around Multnomah Falls. Fed by underground streams that originate miles above on Larch Mountain, this ancient 620 foot (189 m) waterfall is divided into two sections; the upper falls plummets an impressive 542 feet into a pool and again drops 69 feet to form a creek that runs into the Columbia River. Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States and the highest in Oregon, and is Oregon’s number one natural attraction, drawing over 2.5 million visitors a year from around the world. At the base of the waterfall sits the Historic Multnomah Falls Lodge, a full-service day lodge complete with restaurant, gift shop, snack and espresso bar and interpretative center. Although much of the area surrounding Multnomah Falls was recently damaged by fire, you will be able to visit the lodge and experience the natural beauty of the waterfall.
Duration: 25 minutes
Stop At: Horsetail Falls- Columbia River Gorge, Columbia Gorge, Hood River, OR
If time allows we will stop at this this waterfall (that really looks like a horse tail!) and you will be able to walk up to it for photographs and enjoy the spray from it on a hot summer day. Named for its characteristic form, Horsetail Falls plunges 176 feet within view of the Historic Columbia River Highway's "Waterfall Corridor".

Crystal was our tour guide and she was fantastic - very friendly, knowledgeable, and funny. We went to many beautiful places and had enough time to walk around and take lots of pictures. I highly recommend this tour.
This 4 plus hour adventure exceeded our expectations. With only five guests, Crystal was able to personalize the tour and provide in-depth background about the history of the area showing us some wonderful scenes. Would highly recommend and ask for Crystal’s Group!
I really enjoy my experience, my wife and I had only a couple of days to visit Portland and this provided a good opportunity to do experience some of the Portland has to offer. The guide was extremely nice, helpful and informative.
The waterfalls are stunning! Our group is small - 8 people. Did not feel rushed or herded. Our guide Johnny is knowledgeable, but still more impressive, he seems genuinely into seeing the waterfalls with us, as if he hadn't seen it many times before. A real treat.
Our family half-day tour was wonderful and informative. Our family had limited time in Portland. This tour was perfect for our schedule. Excellent guide-knowledgeable, personable.
Our afternoon Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Waterfalls tour was wonderful. Our guide was informative and was always very happy to take photos of us at the different locations. The views were fantastic. This was my husband's and my first visit to Portland and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
I had a great time! The tour guide is a great conversationalist and a safe driver. We visited several falls and the views are breathtaking. I just wish there was more time to stay at all of the sights. The times alloted went too fast. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.
Crystal was a terrific guide. She picked us up promptly and showed us several spectacular waterfalls. She knew a back way in to Bridal Veil Falls that avoided a hike that would have taken more time.
Evan, our tour guide was amazing! The falls were beautiful and enjoyed the short hikes out. Evan’s stories were interesting and entertaining!
We had a great time with Tom guiding us along the way, stopping at three beautiful waterfalls and another scenic overlook. Tom was extremely helpful, informative, and knowledgeable. Definitely the highlight of our trip to Portland!
Although some areas were off-limits because of last year's fires, we saw some amazing waterfalls and had a lot of fun. I do wish I'd worn proper hiking boots instead of tennis shoes, though; a couple of the trails had loose dirt and gravel.
We booked half day waterfall tour . Our guide Eddy was extremely helpful and knowledgeable , took time to explain the history and why what exists. Highly recommend this tour for others worth the money.
Took this trip with Johnny. Good way to get out of the city and get a feel for the countryside. Stopped at several waterfalls and had a good chance to explore. Johnny was very informative and had the added bonus of understanding the Dunedin Sound. If you are looking to get a feel for the area and its natural beauty good way to do in a short time
Our guide was conscientious about our engagement, comfort, and safety...very professional. The scenery is, of course, gorgeous, and I learned a great deal about the area....history, geography, wildlife, politics, weather, etc. Very enjoyable!
Knowledgeable tour guide made for a great experience! Recommend for anyone that loves waterfalls. Great picture taking opportunities.
Beautiful Beautiful...if you had mentioned that it was an hour drive...I might not have gone. I did know that it would be 3.5 hours and enjoyed this very much.
