Discover Memphis on a 3-hour tour by comfortable coach with a local guide who introduces you to the music, culture and history of the Bluff City as you travel through downtown.
Listen to informative commentary from your guide as you stop at Beale Street, which is known for landmark moments in civil rights history as well as its blues music legacy. Famous musicians such as Muddy Waters, BB King, and Memphis Minnie played at clubs here from the 1920s onward. Visit the Smithsonian’s Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and browse exhibits that explain the enormous impact that Memphis' music scene has made on American arts and culture. Hear more about this lively street's significance from your knowledgeable guide while sampling Memphis’ famous barbecue at a local restaurant.
Continue your tour with a stop to walk around the plaza outside the former Lorraine Motel, where Martin Luther King Jr was assassinated in 1968. The building is now part of the National Civil Rights Museum, which features permanent and rotating exhibits that detail five centuries of American history. (Admission to the Civil Rights Museum is not included.)
Pass by Cotton Row and learn how the city developed around this area, which was the heart of the city’s bustling cotton trade in the 1800s. Cruise past historic Court Square, a lovely park that has provided a leafy refuge for city residents since 1819. Then drive along the Mississippi River and through the streets of Victorian Village, a neighborhood with grand Victorian-style mansions built by the city's cotton barons in the 19th century.
Your guide also points out Memphis landmarks including the Orpheum Theater, the Gibson Guitar Factory, and Lauderdale Courts, where Elvis Presley lived as a teenager. Finally, enter the Peabody Hotel to watch the colorful “March of the Ducks,” a quirky and fun Memphis tradition that dates back to the 1930s.
After three hours, your bus returns you to Beale Street to end your tour.

We had an amazing time. Our tour guide was the best. She was incredibly knowledgeable, and you could tell she really loves Memphis. They took great care of us. If you're interested, I have no reservations recommending this tour service.
This was a great and informative tour. I would recommend this tour to get the lay of the land and which sites to further investigate on your own. Our tour guide gave a very informative talk at the Lorraine Hotel about the events of the assignation of Dr. Martin Luther King which I found very moving. The only information I would have liked to have from the guide would had been the hours of the museums that were pointed out on the tour. We went back the following day to the Civil Rights museum only to find it was closed that day of the week. The barbecue place on the tour had excellent food
Great tour. The other customers didn't show so we had a private tour. Our guide, Dylan, was most pleasant and knowledgeable.
The bbq tasting at Central BBQ was excellent.
The tour included most of the downtown/historic centre of Memphis, but not Sun Records.
Our tour guide Larry, was very good. I really enjoyed this tour and lunch was provided.
Tour of Memphis was really interesting, see all the major sites of the city with the added bonus of the rock and soul museum to finish off a wonderful trip
Very informative tour and a good lunch too. I would recommend this tour on your first day in Memphis.
This was a great tour. Our guide was very friendly and had much knowledge to share. I recommend this tour without hesitation.
Excellent tour! Wish we could have stayed longer and toured the National Civil Rights Museum, however, just visiting the Lorraine hotel was very surreal, gave me goose bumps! Larry is an awesome tour guide and a really cool guy. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
It was really enjoyable. Larry was very funny, unpretentious, and full of the Southern laid back personality. He was also punctual and responsible. The tour was succinct with all the highlights and back stories of every site we visited. Overall, it was a very relaxing and stress-free experience. The sampling at the Central BBQ was also very timely. We got in just before the crowd showed up, and was able to enjoy it with no stress either. Thanks Larry!
Our guide Larry was an Excellent person to show us the city and Key attractions. The lunch at Central BBQ was great and a nice way to break up the trip. The Rock and Soul Museum, with tickets included, at the end of our tour was a well received visit. Thanks for showing us your wonderful city. Rick and Pat
Our guide was great!!!! The tour is one of the best we have ever been on. Plus a great value. Do this one
Tour was as described , the bus was comfortable and the operator was knowledgeable and entertaining. What was described as a BBQ tasting was actually a very satisfying lunch including non alcoholic beverage. Operator allowed adequate time at each stop to ask questions. This tour, including lunch, is a great value.
Absolutely fantastic. Showed the best parts of downtown and midtown Memphis. Dylan, the tour guide, was extremely entertaining as well as being very knowledgeable about the city. Definitely a recommended excursion while in Memphis.
Larry was amazing! Funny, informative and helpful.. the museum was wonderful as well! I would do this one again
Our tour guide gave us wonderful history and stories. Beale Street is a great experience, and the BBQ tasting was a full lunch. Very touching seeing the Lorraine Motel where MLK was assassinated.
This tour was so much fun! Larry was a great guide - funny and very knowledgeable of the area. I highly recommend doing this tour if you want to make the most of 3 hours!
This tour was a amazing. Very informative. Our tour Guide KATHY was simply wonderful. Well timed, well organized. Small manageable size of tour. I can't say enough good things about this tour. For the price hands down it is the best value.
Larry our guide was so much fun to hang out with during this MUST DO tour of Memphis! We arrived and found him waiting for us in front of BB King's and he had us head over to the bus to get out of the heat until everyone arrived. The tour consisted of Larry the driver/guide, my Son and I and one other lady which made it very up close and personal tour. The tour was full of history, funny stories and great food, the Peabody Ducks and Central BBQ were by far our favorite stops on the tour. We highly recommend taking this tour to anyone who enjoys seeing Memphis the right way.
Loved this tour. Smaller van so more personalized. Kathy our tour guide was awesome. Never felt rushed. Lots of information given and pointed our interesting things that we could go back later and do. Would highly recommend this tour!
This tour was great. Larry, our guide was pleasant, knowledgeable, and answered ally questions. He let us take our time on the guided part of the tour. He made sure we arrived at the Peabody for a great location. The self guided tour was awesome. We spent 2 hours in the Rock and Soul Museum.
