I cannot stress to you how perfect this tour was! Brian our guide knew so much about Chinatown and North Beach. We visited tea houses, the fortune cookie factory, and several of places along the tour. His knowledge of the area and his relationship with the owners of the places that we visited made everything feel like meeting family. We did not get tired of walking and were definitely full at the end of the tour.
Brian did a wonderful job sharing his love of San Francisco. We enjoyed wonderful Chinese food and the Tea stop was great. Pizza, wine, canolli and fudge were perfect. You will not walk away hungry.
The information on the tour states it lasts 2 hours. Ours lasted around 4 1/2 hours, so make sure that works with your time frame. It was great. Thanks so much!
It was a very nice walk with a great guide, Brian who was very animated and told us a lot of history and we ate a lot of great food
Doing the Chinatown North Beach food tour the first evening in San Francisco was a fun, informative way to experience the city!
Me and my husband had a great time! This was our first Food tour and what a way to start. We are addicted now! All thanks to Brian.very knowledgeable and fun!
Such a fun, yummy, and entertaining tour with Brian! We learned a lot and loved the food stops!
We had a great time on this tour with Brian. He was so enthusiastic about his city and the food. We covered so much. Food sampling was diverse, delicious and plentiful. None of the stops felt rushed . The tour wound up being much longer than the two hours..so just be mindful when booking if time is a factor.
I really enjoyed the group walking tour of Chinatown and North Beach! Our guide was very nice and knowledgeable, we had a great group, and lots of tasty treats! A great way to see and taste some of San Francisco's offerings!
Great evening. Ilene was knowledgeable and prepared It was raining cats and dogs and she came with extra umbrellas. The various foods that we sampled were great. As others have noted, there was lots of food. Ilene recommended that we pack up our extra Dim Sum for breakfast which we did. With all of the things to see and do and stories to hear, this pretty much filled the evening.
Great guide and a great mix of culture and history! Only concern was that we had taken the Alcatrez Tour that morning, so were a bit worn out after doing 2 tours. We could have probably had more fun if the tour had been shorter or perhaps focused on just the highlights or those areas we were more interested in.
Excellent tour combining lots of different foods and history of some of the eateries and the areas covered. Eileen our guide was terrific and we enjoyed the tour with just one other couple!
Dana was great. The food stops were plentiful but the hi light was the fortune cookie factory. It was fun to see how they are made.
We were pleasantly surprised! Our guide was a true local and she was very informative. Be prepared to experience a fantastic tea room the Vital Tealeaf and eat your way thru Chinatown and North Beach (Little Italty) all authentic! I highly recommend it!
Fantastic tour! This was our fourth walking food tour booked with Viator NYC, Chicago, Florence Italy, and we have been very satisfied and enjoyed each one. Eileen was delightful and a very fun and knowledgeable tour guide. Our group included a couple from Scotland, a woman traveling alone from Tennessee, and my family of 4. We stopped and sampled at a Chinese tea shop, Chinese Dim Sum restaurant, candy store, popcorn shop, and Mona Lisa - an Italian restaurant that we visited AGAIN the following night because it was so good. Each shop owner was extremely generous. So much so that we all had packaged some of our food to-go from one or more stops. My daughters are both vegetarians and it was no problem at all, very accommodating. My husband cannot have dairy or tomatoes, so the Italian restaurant Mona Lisa prepared a pasta dish for him while we all enjoyed our wine and margherita pizza. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was the highlight of our visit to San Francisco. Our guide was the best! Her insight and knowledge were beyond our imagination. She shared history of the cultures including food unique shops and answered lots of questions we have always had. We love San Francisco, but have an even deeper love learning some of the the hows and whys of Chinatown and North Beach. The food and tea were exceptional and we felt very special with the amazing treatment from our fabulous guide. Thank you! We will do it again, the next chance we have.
Really enjoyed this tour - Celeste was an excellent guide and full of lots of interesting facts about Chinatown and North Beach. The food was also amazing from dim sum to pickled garlic to awesome pizza! I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in good food and learning more about these areas in San Francisco.
Our guide Eileen was the best. We were so fortunate to have her all to ourselves, as only our party of 3 signed up.
Walked in Chinatown, ate dinner, visited many places, continued to North Beach, pizza. chocolates, popcorn - Oh My! Don't even think about eating after this tour - we were stuffed, both with food and information about the area. A must do!
