Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Stop At: Estancia El Ombu de Areco, Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina

Begin your 9-hour tour with a drive from your hotel in Buenos Aires to the village of San Antonio de Areco. Enjoy views of the pampas en route and listen to commentary about the area from your guide.

Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Museo Draghi, San Antonio de Areco, Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina

Paradores Draghi is the ideal corner for those who enjoy the cultural attractions offered by a place. There you will access a tour through the sumptuous space where you can see a vast collection of pieces of rural goldsmithing of the nineteenth century, which reveals the mysteries of a period of national identity consecration of the figure of the Gaucho as a main character of that time.
In Paradores Draghi begin your journey through history not only as a spectator, but also as a participant in the process of making exclusive goldsmith pieces that take shape through the hands of artisans recreating the techniques of traditional goldsmithing as their founder, Juan José Draghi, did in the 60s.
Once you get to the town, you will enjoy a tour of the village including a walk around the historical downtown of the city.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Parroquia San Antonio de Padua, San Antonio de Areco, Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina

Located on Segundo Sombra Street, between Alsina and Arrellano. Don José Ruiz de Arellano founded the first oratory in the center of his stay. The foundation of this oratory was very important for the creation of the town. In the years 1720 and 1728, the first chapel was built, it was located a little more to the right than the current one. The foundation stone of the present church was placed on February 7, 1869 and was buried under the central entrance door. Inside it was placed a lead box containing the original records written on parchment, newspapers of the day, medals and coins of the time.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Boliche de Bessonart Bar

In the grocery and drinks store, the peasants and country people who came to the town to provide themselves and do errands to the cereal house, the store, the doctor, the bank, used to meet. There "stopped" Don Segundo Ramírez, the gaucho who was later a character in the novel by Ricardo Güiraldes.

Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Estancia El Ombu de Areco, Province of Buenos Aires, Central Argentina

Make your way to the exclusive ‘El Ombu de Areco’ Estancia. At this place, you will have a chance to take rides on horses or go for a ride in a carriage while enjoying some traditional cold cuts, cheeses and beverages. Then, you will enjoy a typical Argentinian barbeque of the finest meats. While you have dessert, you will be able to see a folklore show followed by a demonstration of gaucho skills.

Duration: 5 hours

We loved this tour, we really had a great day. Pablo, our guide, was great and quite thorough in his explanations and people at the estancia were amazing. The lunch provided was of good quality and we were lucky to have a nice group of people with us to share this experience. We would recommend this tour to everyone.

We really enjoyed our day at the estancia in San Antonio de Areco. The estancia was beautiful and everyone was given a choice of riding horses or in a carriage. The meal was very nice with plenty of choices for everyone. We really enjoyed the folk dancing and the gaucho exhibition. This was a wonderful, relaxing day in a beautiful setting in the country. Everyone was warm and welcoming. Would highly recommend this tour.

This tour was incredible- educational, fun, family based, with great food and drink, and a wonderful opportunity to experience a real side of Argentine life in the pampas! And the guide Pablo was simply amazing! He loves people; he loves interacting with the people on the ranch and educating. A+

We enjoyed this trip but it was a little boring. Food and gaucho entertainment was ok. We met a nice elderly couple on the tour. Love the empanadas. San Antonio de Areco was small and nice. Impressed with the wide expanse of flat ground where the cattle graized. Learned a lot about the farm. Nice animals i.e. miniature horses on the property.

This tour was fantastic!! The day at the ranch was so enjoyable and our tour guide Paoblo was knowledgeable and friendly. The horseback ride, the friendly staff, the gaucho songs and dances and especially the horse whisperer. The view of the pampas was incredible. A double thumbs up!!

We did a small group tour two of us to San Antonio de Areco and a near by ranch. Probably the best thing we did in five weeks of touring South America. It was awesome. Thank you to our guide and the company. John Forbes.

It was a wonderful day! The food was amazing, and the gauchos and servers were jovial! I am a horseback rider however, and they stuck me with an older horse who could barely move! My partner and I would have loved to gallop through the fields together, but the tour guide thought I needed a tranquil horse. I was disappointed in that part. Everything else was great! Our tour guide told us many interesting things about Argentina as we rode on the bus, and we even shared some mate!
I say don't miss this tour when in Argentina!

Great day. Pablo was excellent guide and extremely informative. The design of the tour was great, with short visit to silver museum, and once at ranch appetizers, horseback riding or carriage rides, then lunch, dancing and Horse-whispering. Recommend highly. Well worth the 2 hour drive in the air conditioned bus to get there.

The trip to the Estancia Ombu - Small-Group gaucho Day at a farm in San Antonio de Areco was fabulous. Our guide met us at our hotel and drove us to the Estancia giving us a constant informative commentary of the terrain we were covering to get to San Antonio. His English was very good and as we were the only tourists with him, we had a very personal experience. The gauchos and others at the Estancia Ombu couldn't have been nicer and the food was excellent and very plentiful. The most impressive activity that day was watching one of the gauchos perform doma-india with his horse. I won't explain it but it was an amazing spectacle and one I will never forget. I highly recommend this tour over others offered to the estancias. .

This tour was excellent! Marcelo was a very informative tour guide and took us to lots of local spots in pretty San Antonio de Areco. This is not a touristy day, it is a visit to a real Estancia. The BBQ was some of the nicest food we had in Argentina and there was no shortage of red wine. The horse ride was fun and Gaucho Oskar was fantastic!

After reading other reviews we decided to take this tour. So happy we did and I hope someone reads this review and does the same. It was the highlight of our trip!
Our guide, Florencia, was amazing! She gave so many interesting facts along the way without ever overdoing it. We definitely learned a great deal, not only about Gaucho life but about Argentina in general.
The Estancia was great, the food was very good and the activities were first rate. The Gauchos showed off their skills and it was truly amazing.

An excellent antidote to the busy city. Three of us mom, dad, 21 yr daughter took the trip, which takes up the entire day. The town of San Antonio de Areco was quite charming and interesting. Marcelo, our guide, was incredibly knowledgeable and obviously well-respected by all of the local people we encountered. I would have enjoyed more time to be able to browse the shops. The Estancia was just lovely the luncheon was delicious and interacting with the gauchos was quite memorable. Daughter said it was cool.
