Depart from your Ushuaia hotel by minibus and head to Tierra del Fuego National Park with your guide and small group. Upon arrival, stop at Bahia Ensenada (Ensenada Bay) to enjoy beautiful views of the Beagle Channel before undertaking your hike up the easy coastal path.
Your guide will choose the route—either the Pampa Alta or Senda Costera—depending on conditions and interests of the group. Pampa Alta, a 3-mile (5-km) trail that lasts approximately two hours, offers gorgeous vistas as well as bird watching. Senda Costera (Coastal Path) is a popular 4-mile (8-km) trail that takes you along the coast for about three hours. As you follow your guide, you’ll learn about the geography of the area as well as the nature and wildlife found in Tierra del Fuego National Park. Note the diverse flora and fauna, such as Antarctic beech, and perhaps find traces of ancient Yámanas settlements.
When you reach your destination at Lago Roca (Roca Lake), enjoy a complimentary lunch in the forest setting. Dine on chicken breast en papillote (baked in foil) with tomato and cheese, accompanied by mineral water, wine and soft drinks.
After lunch, your guide will prepare your small group for the 1.5-hour canoe ride down the Lapataia River, which brings you to Lapataia Bay and the Beagle Channel. The remote bay, nestled amid snow-capped mountains, is a great place for spotting waterfowl such as ducks, geese and plovers that inhabit this region at the ‘end of the world’!
Your tour culminates here at the Panamerican Highway, where you’ll hop aboard your minibus for the return trip to Ushuaia with drop-off at your hotel.

Everything about our day in Tierra del Fuego was great. Timely pick up from hostal, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful guides and driver. Loved the hike, lunch and canoeing. I totally recommend this tour!
I am 66 years old and the hike was of moderate difficulty and I was able to do it. I was not the fastest and Pedro made sure I was able to get down some of the steeper sections. It was rainy, so part of trail was slippery.
The canoe was a raft with 5-6 people in each, with guide in the back. Everyone paddles and it is a very stable boat.
In between the hike and canoe we had a very good lunch.
Guide was excellent and the rafting portion was fun since it was low tide. Most sections you drift leisurely with the current so not much paddling was required until the end when there was a headwind. The hiking portion was incredibly scenic.
The guides were outstanding: friendly, really informative but not intrusive, and they stopped frequently and encouraged us to experience the amazing place we were visiting. The trip was well laid out and stunningly beautiful. Getting out on the water provided a wonderfully different perspective. Well done.
An excellent trip with amazing guides Fecundo and Miguel. As we were the only 2 in the group we did a shorter canoe trip. The coastal walk was very enjoyable.
Altogether a great tour and would highly recommend
The tour was well organized. However, organizing this through Viator is more expensive. You can potentially save about 50 per person if you organize this tour locally. We didn't know until we got to Ushuaia to find out that there are a lot of local tour operators that offer semilar tours.
Awesome guides and awesome tour. It was a lot of fun. Make sure you bring your best because the canoe portion can be challenging if there are strong headwinds!
Alex was a great tour guide-he does it all-very informative about area, fauna, etc. Additionally, he and driver cook, clean, assist and are very friendly. Picked us up at our apartment on time, drove to National Park explaining as we went along. First stop was canoe, which were actually rubber rafts--there is a guide in one and then they put the rest of us in others-a great and beautiful experience. We got lucky as the rain stopped and sun came out. After canoe experience, go to an eco-dome for wine, appetizers and a very good grilled chicken lunch. Then off to the hike! Is about 5 hours and takes about 3 hours. Stopping along the way for photos, etc. However, not leisurely.
We did the Costera he trail is moderate-lots of ups and downs and twists- a little more strenuous at times than we thought. Others discussed as well-but all so worth it! Beautiful thru the forest and along the coast. Wonderful experience!
Easy paced your...beautiful scenery all the way..recommend this tour to anyone.
We had a great trip. It was well organised and well executed. Our guide was excellent, she was friendly, fun and informative. I would highly recommend the tour. Thanks so much.
This was a fun tour. The hiking and canoeing were a little too rushed in my opinion. The lunch was excellent! I wish I could have had my own kayak because I didn't enjoy trying to canoe with the other folks in the tour group we didn't mesh well as a team and that was frustrating.
This was great, everything I expected. The canoe was actually a narrow rubber raft with people sitting next to each other and paddling n each side. There were 7 per raft with a guide in the back steering. The river/lake was quite calm, easy to paddle, nothing difficult. The hike was along the water and in the trees. The variety of trees and the guides explanation of the flora and fauna was very good.
The hike and canoeing was very active, but allowed for older and younger people to be involved. The hike was along the shores of a bay and into steeper hills of Tierra del Fuego National Park, with the provision of a lovely cooked lunch. Worth every penny!
My tour was amazing. We were a small group of 3 so it was very personal. It snowed most of the day, but that did not stop us from enjoying the tour and completing our canoe trip. The views were breathtaking and the hiking gave a very clear picture of what Tierra del Fuego has to offer. The canoe trip provided different view points that would otherwise have been missed.
Our tourguide was amazing and the food that was prepared was delicious! I had a wonderful time, even with the cold weather.
Great scenery and guide. However, the pace was a little faster than we would have liked because there was very little time to stop along the way and enjoy the views and take photos. Other than that, a very nice day.
FANTASTIC! All day experience. Tour Company and guides are excellent and very knowledgeable. Went on an English speaking tour and guide did a great job and kept the group well entertained. Morning consisted of a wonderful hike along the shoreline with many stops to learn of the region and the history. Unbelievable scenery with boundless photography opportunities.
Stopped for lunch that was served in a large tent. Food was excellent, exceeding expectations and served with very good choice of wine. Next the group boarded inflatable rafts that held 5 people each. Drifted down a beautiful river toward the Beagle channel. Incredible scenery and very relaxing.
What a perfect day and exposure to the National Park with its amazing views and fauna. Worth the price and a must do while in Ushuaia.
