Expedition loaded with emotions without equal, so much for the magnitude of the landscapes, the rough weather, the work of the mules, guides and baqueanos, added to the historical stamp that is printed in each moment in each camp, where in a certain way we relived the epic of that great patriot Don José de San Martín and his liberating troops, who chose these ravines, mountain ranges, valleys and steps to start our freedom as a country and as a continent.

What to Expect What to Expect


Day 1. Reception in the city of San Juan or Mendoza and transfer to Barreal. Overnight at Posada in Barreal. Acclimatization, team review, logistics talk. Introduction to the history of the crossing. Free time. Night in Barreal in shared cabins 3 to 5 people. Consult for singles or doubles. 

Day 2. Breakfast. Transfers in 4x4 vehicles to the first mountain station. Assignment and preparation of the mules. Lunch in the field. Departure through Cordillerano valley delimited by the hills La Ramada and Alma Negra. Native fauna sighting. Arrival to the first campsite, night in Peñón Colorado or Los Hornitos (BC1 2900msnm) * depending on where we start the ride we can advance to another BC.

Day 3. Breakfast at Peñón or Los Hornitos. Departure to the pass of Espinacito, where we will reach a maximum height of 4,500 m.s.n.m, perhaps the most adrenaline and exciting moment of the expedition. Arrival to the base camp. Dinner and Night in Las Vegas de Gallardo (

Day 4: Breakfast in Las Vegas de Gallardo. We rode to Valle de Los Patos to reach the Valle Hermoso, where General San Martín performed with the Army his last camp on the Argentine side. Dinner and Night along the river of Valle Hermoso. 

Day 5: Breakfast. Horseback riding to the Chilean border limit. Break.Night in Valle Hermoso.

Day 6: Breakfast. Horseback ride back among Cordillera streams until you reach Rancho de Lata or Vega del Cura, where you will spend the night and dine. 

Day 7: Breakfast at Rancho de Lata. Departure in ascent to Paso La Honda where the border line of Altas Cumbres and Cerro Aconcagua can be observed. Arrival at Manantiales. Possible extension to Burners by road condition. Transfers to Barreal. Night in shared cabins 3 to 5 people. Consult quote double or single room.

Day 8. Breakfast. Transfers End of services.
