After an early start, head to the picturesque village of San Antonio de Areco, with its many workshops in charming little streets. On the edge of the village is the river Areco, which you will cross to go to the Ricardo Güiraldes Musuem, giving you a sample of gaucho life. This is the ideal place to enjoy a parilla with succulent Argentinian meat in one of the small restaurants which offer meals at reasonable prices.
On the way back, take another route and stop over in Lujan to visit the spectacular Basilica of Lujan, a phenomenal piece of architecture pointing at the skies in the middle of the Pampas. Enjoy a wonderful day out with a difference, and a good rest, away from the noise and agitation of Buenos Aires.
