Mendoza River Area
An ancient and traditional wine region located at Lujan de Cuyo and Maipu. They are known as “the first wine area” of the Argentine wines. Such appellation arises from the international prestige that wine labels of this area have gained, considered the top quality wines of the country. Malbec is the emblematic wine variety of this area, and even the province and the country, though Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc stand out too.

Visit at Norton - At the end of the 19th Century the Englishman Edmund Norton married the Mendocinean Juana Suárez. Their father-in-law had lands in Perdriel, Luján de Cuyo, on which the British rail engineer planted his first vines and he became the owner of the winery. In 1989 Norton Cellars was acquired by the Austrian manager Gernot Langes-Swarowski. The establishment is comPosada of a group of buildings: the oldest, the ancestral house and the neighboring works, date back to 1895. In 1960 new wings were built and in 1997 the group was structured in functional form and they installed “the wine bar”, built with stones of Villavicencio, raw leather, copper surfaces and typical materials of the region. The view of the mountain range, with vineyards in the foreground, is of an extraordinary beauty.

Matervini is dedicated to the exploration of the oldest geologies of Pre-Cordillera and the impact on wine personality and flavors. Most extreme vineyards in the country. They use solar for all of their energy needs and compost all their organic residues.
1pm - Lunch at Melipal. Melipal is a modern winery founded in 2003 by the family Aristi. The project is the result of perseverance and enthusiasm, coupled with a passion to be done.
