We were very happy with the service provided by “MTO Tour Chile” transporting my husband and I from the San Antonio Port to our hotel in Las Condes area of Santiago, after arriving on the Royal Princess. I called MTO about a week before our arrival to make sure the vehicle could accommodate our 4 large suitcases, and it did. The day before our arrival, we received an email from MTO with pick-up Instructions and confirmation of our drop-off location. The driver arrived promptly at the scheduled time (8:30 am), displaying a sign with our name, and drove us safely to our hotel. Although, the cost is is somewhat expensive, we learned (while on the cruise ship) the price was comparable to taxis at the Port. We highly recommend!
The driver was on time, the car was roomy and our luggage fit easily. I highly recommend this service!
Driver was on time, safe and reliable.Had sign with my name on it and the van was clean and comfortable.
Our driver showed up at the cruise terminal in San Antonio earlier than the promised time. His vehicle was clean and large enough for our luggage. He had a sign that clearly identified who he was picking up and he knew the route and got us into Santiago in good time. The only problem was that he didn't speak English other than a few phrases that he was so good at I just assumed he was understanding us. He was friendly and grabbed our bags for us. We didn't have a good knowledge of Spanish, so it was a very quiet ride. I would encourage anyone travelling in South America to try to learn a little Spanish to make communication a little easier. I had read that taxi drivers generally only speak Spanish but I didn't get around to trying to learn necessary phrases - that was my fault not his.
Very helpful to find this service, as there seemed to be quite limited options for this transfer from SA port to Santiago and it was hotel downtown, not airport as referenced in the title. Price seemed reasonable compared to the one other option found, and the driver was friendly and courteous. The vehicle was also clean and comfortable. The only very small issue was the our driver did not really speak English the advertisement when we booked indicated one of the expectations for customers was an English-speaking driver. But this was a very minor thing, as we were able to easily get by with our smattering of Spanish and our driver's smattering of English. I'd encourage others to consider this service for transfers from Puerto San Antonio.
We were reminded by email one week before our disembarkation that we would be picked up at 10:00 am at the San Antonio port. So, we made sure we were at the pick up place by 9:30. There were plenty of signs held up by other prearranged private transfer agents and even some who were taking people on the spot. 10:00 am went by and our driver did not show up or try to get a hold of us via email. By 10:15, using another agents phone, we called our agent and they said they were running late. They called back ten minutes later and said there was an accident on the road and they would be at the port in 20 minutes. We were just about to make other arrangements for transfer to Santiago, when our driver walked up without any sign and asked if we were the people to take to Santiago. By then, it was nearly an hour past the assigned time for pickup. We found there were plenty of agents willing to transfer us in a private vehicle at the port. Even the cruise line offered a bus transfer to the center of town. We wanted piece of mind knowing that someone would be there to pick us up at the assigned time and that they would communicate with us should there be a problem. We had to make the initial call to find out where they were.
