To be honest, I'm not sure if the addressed mentioned above is the actual one. I was recently here at Campesano on July 10th 2016. I was informed of this trip through a Viator sales agent who helped me find a last minute trip. The day was not the best weather, but regardless I had the best time! The day started with a 2 hour trip to Villa Alemana from Santiago. The host had suggested to take the bus, but I felt more comfortable taking a personal taxi, which ended up costing me more however I paid for my comfort level. We arrived and Kai introduced me to the horse I would be riding, Siena, a beautiful calm horse. He gave me a great run down on horses and all of the important 411. I felt fully knowledgeable after our talk enough to go mountain riding. Next, I went with Yanna on the trip up the mountain new owner taking on the business. The trip lasted about 3ish hours. The view was absolutely amazing.
By the way, I wasn't allowed to bring my own phone or camera for safety reasons. Unless you are a professional, I would highly suggest giving up your phone and other electronics for the ride. It offers you a nice break from technology coming from a girl who is an incessant snapchatter/instagrammer. It was the best idea ever! Yanna took a bunch of pictures of me and the views and the horses. A couple days later, all of the pictures were sent to me, and I was able to instagram my heart away.
After reaching the top, we started to make our way down. To be honest, this was the scariest part for me. I noticed how the horse could easily sense my nervousness, so I had to keep it together for the horse. At the end, we finally made it down and awaiting for us was a wonderful Chilean BBQ grilled chicken, beef, pork, and sausages with veggies potatoes etc. It was delicious!!!
Honestly, I didn't want the day to end and I told Yanna that I would be back for sure. My goal is to come back to Campesano at least once every couple of years to do this activity - maybe next time in slightly warmer weather.
PS...I would consider this roughing it out - so don't wear any clothes that you don't intend getting dirty etc. Beautiful day with nature, horses, wonderful people, and great experience in Chile.
ANOTHER GREAT PLUS IS THE PRICE!! 71 USD..amazing for the unforgettable experience.
The only downfall is the transportation to get to Villa Alemana..I think next time when i am more comfortable with the public transportation, I will take the buses.
Janna and the staff at Campesano were very helpful and accommodating. The lunch was fantastic and offered a great variety of food! The horseback ride was great and the tour lead was very tentative to all of our varied riding skills! If I could have asked for anything else, it would be lounge chairs by the pool....oh and souvenir t-shirts.
