Escape land-locked Santiago to the shores of the Pacific and experience local life in the seaport city of Valparaiso. A city of lights and an important site of Chilean culture and traditions, you can find bohemian life and artistic expression everywhere here.
We’ll hop on a local bus and leave Santiago for Valparaiso, travelling just as the locals do. Once we’ve arrived in the city, we’ll travel on public transport, and hop aboard the famous Ascensores de Valparaiso, hillside elevators that are part of the unique identity of this UNESCO city.
This Valapariso tour will take you to a lookout point to admire the immensity of the ocean that quietly baths the bay of the Pacific coast. We’ll explore Valpo as it’s known to locals; from the hillsides lined with colourful houses to the streets painted with graffiti. And in between exploring, we'll be sure to grab lunch from a local spot.
After learning the stories and curiosities of Valparaiso and Chilean culture, we’ll take the bus back to Santiago with some new Chilean slang and our soul full of bohemian spirit!

The guide Macarena was very great, very pleasant. This place is great, I am very happy that I have seen. Just remind that the city become a bite poor, than the building are not all refreshed.
The trip to Valparaiso was wonderful and my tour guide, Macarena, was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. It felt like I had a crush course on Chilean culture since Macarena was able to provide answers that were clear and informative without being overwhelming. She obviously loves her job and is truly gifted as a tour guide. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to know Valparaiso from the inside.
Macarena is an excellent guide, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The walking is mainly downhill during which you see a lot of amazing street art, visit art shops, have lunch in a restaurant popular with the locals, live music, and ride a funicular. If you have a spare day, DO IT!
I was the only person on the tour this day, so I had the pleasure of having a very personalised tour. My guide Macarena was amazing!! She was friendly and warm - her local knowledge was outstanding. It's a pleasure to tour with someone with such an obvious passion for what they do. Highly recommended!
This intimate exploration of Valparaiso was led by Macarena -- a superb travel guide. She had to turn a terrible day due to heavy rain only day we could go on this tour into a very positive experience. Walking through the quiet streets with close-up connections to Valparaiso's famous wall art was memorable -- Macarena knew extensive knowledge of the artists who did many of the paintings and the meaning of the collages. Lunch in a true Chilean restaurant was fun, especially since Chile was planning in the Federation Cup at the lunch hour and many avid fans were watching the match in the restaurant. This tour was put together very well. Enjoyed the range of activities, the quality of the guide, and the depth of knowledge gained.
This tour was wonderful. Macarena is probably the most friendly and down to earth person you will ever encounter.
We explored the city on foot and had a lovely traditional lunch at a local restaurant.
By doing this tour you will see much more than you would if you did the traditional Vina del Mar-Valparaiso bus tours.
Wonderful walking tour of Valparaiso! Our guide was truly wonderful and very knowledgeable of the local area. She knew many of the hidden, off-the-beaten-path locations for excellent photos. Overall, I had a wonderful trip and would recommend it to others.
This trip was one of the best! Macarena was friendly, so informative and truly loves what she does! Couldn't have had a better day that we had. Thank you!
This tour to Valparaiso was fantastic. I met my tour guide, Macarena, and was surprised that I was the only person on the tour that day. The Santiago transit system is east to follow so I met Macarena at the bus terminal where we caught a local coach from Santiago to Valparaiso. The trip was planned well with a variety of local transport taking us to the top of the town while we descended on foot. Macarena knew the history of the town and the background to a lot of the street art and where the best art was. We ate at a local restaurant that served traditionally cooked food. She also took me to visit some local artists who were great. Worth buying stuff in this shop. Valparaiso was interesting and vibrant and Macarena went above and beyond to make sure I had a great day. Easy to tell she loves her job. A really great experience.
