In this City Tour each place we visit reveals something new about the history of the feminist and gender equality movement. We will start at Miraflores Street 286, where you'll discover the history of a place where, during the Colonial Period, women of "bad and restless lives" were sent to be reformed. There, starts our tour of the history of a movement that continues fighting until today.
We will also visit the Moneda Palace, the seat of the President of Chile, where you'll learn about the advancement of women into higher education and their every growing role in politics. Discover details about the life of Michelle Bachelet, Chile's first female President, and the impact her career has had in the country.
Finally, we'll visit three companies led by women that are challenging gender norms in Chile. First, La Tienda Nacional is a local icon for authentic souvenirs, books and music. Then, we'll stop by Japi Jane, a store that focuses on women's sexual well being and fulfillment. Finally, we'll stop for beer/wine and snacks at Cafe&Bar Colmado.
