The ruins were made interesting by the guide that we had. He had a lot of information about the Mayan culture and the things that they discovered so many years ago. Our guide had many pictures to show us which illustrated what he was explaining. That really is what made it very interesting.
Was all we expected and more. The tour operator took great care of us. They were with us all the time and very helpful for all our needs. I would recommend this tour to anyone. There is some walking involved, but nothing most people can't handle. Cold water was provided at the start of the tour and cold drinks and subs.at the end in the air conditioned bus. Great opportunity to learn about Mayan History. Great tour guide who knew everything about that history.
Our tour finder guide was great we were running late and they waited for us. One member of group was separated from us and they did everything possible to help us find and get back to our ship on time. Separation was not their fault in any way. They were super helpful. Thanks so much
It was a nice history tour tour guides where great had a good time it was really really hot wear lots of sunscreen and take a lot of water
We had an excellent guide on the way to Tulum. He was most informative and made sure to take care of us with helpful suggestions once we arrived at the site. Tulum itself was incredible. Our site guide, though informative and interesting, seemed rushed. I only wish we had had 30 more minutes, thus allowing a few more minutes with the site guide before our free time. This might even allow time for a quick dip in the ocean. I realize that the ship's departure time is a restraining factor. Regardless, Tulum is definitely a bucket list item and I highly recommend this tour.
We first met the 2 tour guides at 9 am at the ferry meeting point which just a few minutes walk from our cruise. They are very professional and very polite. We took the ferry to the mainland 30 minutes then we took a coach to the ruin 45 minutes. The coach was brand new and the drive was very pleasant. At the ruin, we had a guided tour and the guide was very knowledgeable. The tour company served us with Subway sandwich and a bottle of drink for lunch. We came back to the cruise around 2:45 pm. Thank you for the professional service and the best memories in Cozumel.
This was a great tour. It was very well organized and it was nice to drive in small passenger vans clean, air conditioned, and very comfortable. Our tour guide was very interesting and the views of the ocean are beautiful. The tour was very organized.
The guides were fantastic! They kept things on time and the whole thing went very smoothly. There are ALOT of moving parts to this tour. You have to catch a cab from your ship to the ferry terminal easy to do - costs around 6 each way. Then you meet with the tour operators. You have to take a 45 min ferry ride to the mainland Playa del Carmen and the ride was great! Beautiful views and a little band playing for tips which made it fun. Once on the mainland you walk a ways to your van/bus. Then another 35-45 min ride to the ruins. We met up with a Mayan guide at the ruins and were given about a 40 min talk as he walked us through. Then we had a good 40 min to walk around on our own. You have to walk through a TON of shops to get to the ruins and the people can be pushy but they see you are on a tour and will leave you alone if you just say no gracias. The guides were very aware of the times the ships were leaving and made sure we got back with plenty of time to get back to our ships. We picked this tour over the one the ship offered because we did not want to go to the lagoons afterwards. We are so pleased with this and will definitely use Viator again in the future!
Excellent guided tour of Tulum - transport, guides, timing of tour - all perfect!
Tour was well organized, on time and very informative. Official Tulum guides are required to be recertificatied every 6 months to update information. Our guide, Juan Ramon, was very involved in providing information and encouraging questions. Note: There is a tram 2 round trip from the meeting point or Walk is 1 mile.
Ernesto was our tour guide and he was great !!!!!
Quick 10 min. Taxi ride to the ferry , ferry ride for 35 and not to bad sit downstairs we're the a/c is
Great and then about a 50 minute bus ride , bus was newer and a/c was great and driver was safe .
Highly recommend !!!! Super well worth it also George was the tour guide in Tulum and he was
excellent also. Would do again !
Excellent value for money and ensured we made it back in time for our ship departure.
Met outside the ferry port. Guides explained process. Ferry v clean and quick. Coaches clean and air conditioned. Once at venue we were introduced to a local guide - very informative. Plenty of time to explore after tour. Tulum busy but worth a visit. Lunch was provided - subway, crisps and sprite.
Great tour. Beautiful ruins! Ernesto organized and ran the tour perfectly!
Hello! We went to Cozumel a few weeks ago as part of our cruise holidays. The tour is really good and it is worth doing it if you are into culture and want to see something different. We ran a few minutes late and almost miss the catamaran to Playa del Carmen so make sure to arrive earlier to avoid last minute rush. I contacted the tour operator and they sent someone to pick me up in the location which was great and we didn't miss the boat. The guide and the driver was really nice guys.
The tour itself is very cool but I find time is not enough to properly explore Tulum and have a dip in the beach near as you only have 2 hours to explore the park, the first our is a guided tour with a native Mayan which is brilliant to get an understanding of the cultural heritage of the park and then you have an hour to explore in your. Going with cruises restrict your time that's why the trip is very strict in terms of time but if apart of that the tour is very good. I wouldn't hesitate to book it again!
We had a wonderful experience. It was easy finding a taxi to drive us to the ferry terminal. Cost was 2 per person. Our guide was waiting by the swallow statue exactly as stated. Once our group was together it was a pleasant ferry ride to Playa Del Carmen. Since our group was small only 10 it was easy walking through the port area for our van. A pleasant drive to Tulum. We had a very knowledgeable guide who explained the Mayan culture and buildings. After some free time to walk around, have a drink, and shop some of the local crafts. Our guide had Subway lunches ready for us as we drove back to the ferry terminal. Another nice ferry ride concluded our tour. Good value with friendly guides.
My group of friends and I all enjoyed this tour to Tulum very much. It was an easy walk from the cruise ship and the guides were there to meet us. They were all pleasant, friendly and organized. We boarded the ferry which was up to date and clean with clean toilets. That was a nice surprise. The ferry ride was a little bit rough on the way back but we were all fine. The drive to the Tulum ruins passed very quickly and both the van and the driver were excellent.
I recommend visiting the ruins because the area is so picturesque. The tour itself was about an hour and not long enough for certain people to be come bored or impatient. I think it would be a good tour for children too because they can run around the open areas quite a lot.Our guide was careful to lead us to small shady areas when he explained things. After the tour you can walk around the area and take photos of the ruins and the shoreline and the many other photo opportunities that are available. We all enjoyed the day and when we returned to Cozumel there was still some time left for shopping if you so wished. All in all this tour was an excellent choice and we all enjoyed going to Tulum.
