Our guide, Bernardo, was excellent!! He was full of energy and information. We had a great time and tasted some excellent food and drink that we would have never had the opportunity to learn about or KNOWN about!! When we return we will sure to visit these places again!!
Had a great time... food was delicious and authentic... I highly recommend going...Amanda showed us around and really knew the city. Big thumbs up!!
Good guide Al,and good food stops. My problem was that my reservation was not on the guide's list!###
Not just a food tour but a brief immersion into the culture and essence of Puerto Vallarta! Our guide, Amanda, was absolutely brilliant in both her knowledge of and passion for food. She took us places that I would never have thought held such tasty meals! A "must do" in PV!
We had such a great time!! Shaunnie our tour guide was awesome and very knowledgeable about everything in the area. Be prepared to walk and talk while eating some of the best food in the city. Can't wait to come back to do it again
This is one of the best food tours ever! We met with our guide who was outstanding! Joana took us walking through the Zona Romantica and into downtown to taste incredible vendor foods and street vendor refreshing fresh water drinks. We also visited some delicious restaurants that I wish I had had more time to visit for lunch or dinner. All in all HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Go with Joana, you will not be disappointed!
Kelsey was the best guide ever. Very knowledgeable. Lots of good food from places we would otherwise have not known about. Almost too much food so could probably shorten the tour by one or two stops.
This is the best food tour we've ever taken . . . even when compared to last summer's food tour in Florence, Italy and the one in San Juan, PR. Kelsey, our guide, made the tour fascinating, fun and filling! Especially enjoyed the various waters we sampled. Our ship changed our port arrival time by three hours making it impossible to begin the food tour with everyone else but Paul of Vallarta Food Tours met us at the second destination and connected us with the group and it was smooth sailing from then on! This food tour was insightful and delicious. So glad we got the cocoa tabs. Don't know what they are? Go on the food tour and find out!
We came in on a cruise ship and as we didn't see an excursion we liked, I went to Tripadvisor and read reviews about the food tour. It sounded great. We were in a group of 10 and our guide spoke perfect English. She gave running history and information as we walked from one food establishment to another. We stopped at several street taco stands, which we would probably have passed by if on our own. The food was excellent - chili relleno taco stuffed with crab, was one of my favorites. We were senior adults and worried about trekking to nine eateries, but our guide walked at a good pace for us and we had time to sit and enjoy our food at all places. We made one stop and a coffee/ice cream store and just chilled for 1/2 an hour. She was not in a hurry. As she knew we were from a cruise ship, she took us to a large market where we could do some great shopping. We visited a candy store and sampled 6-8 different items we visited a sit down restaurant and had several items to sample. At the first store she said we could have more than one taco, but she warned us, we'd be eating at nine places, so we'd be too full if we gorged ourselves. The last stop was at the arches by the ocean and we had a great drink from a street vendor who simply had a gallon of a white drink. Turned out great. The size of the group was good, they don't do over 10 on a tour. Very good introduction to eateries in Puerto Vallarta and on our next stop, we'll know some great places to take friends and they'll wonder how we were so knowledgeable about the city.
Amanda was out tour guide and she was great. Informative, not only about the food and customs, but history of the area. We tried things that we would never have ventured to try on our own, and then were return customers. We did recommend the tour at the very beginning of your vacations to get a good lay of the city and what is available.
Our tour with Amanda was definitely 5 star. We had some fantastic food while learning about the culinary delights of Mexico. Amanda is a fantastic guide. This is the tour to take while you are in Puerto Vallarta!
Our tour guide was Amanda, and she was extremely knowledgable about the food as well as the background stories of the places that we visited. It was by far our favorite experience during our trip to Puerto Vallarta, and the food was exceptional. Highly recommend!
This was one of the best tours ever! We have been to Puerto Vallarta three times, but this is the first time that we really got to experience the real city and the people!!! We loved walking the old downtown area between food stops there could have been a little more time to look around the area, but you needed to watch closely where you were walking due to uneven sidewalks, etc. The food stops were great you really got to experience authentic, local Mexican cooking... the only downside is that I no longer appreciate the Mexican restaurants back home as much not authentic! Our guide, Amanda, was great, very knowledgeable and communicated lots of useful information, very friendly and helped us greatly appreciate the area as well as the food.
Amanda was an awesome tour guide. Her knowledge of Puerto Vallarta's history, old town and her passion for food made the tour most enjoyable. We ate at restaurants, street food and even went to the local candy store. Everything was fresh and delicious. I've been coming to PV for a number of years and still learned more and found more special places to add to my dining experience through Amanda.
Joanna was a wonderful guide!! She was very knowledgeable about the food as well as the city. She gave us ideas of other places to check out as well. The food was absolutely fantastic!! We were shown many hidden gems that we wouldn't have found on our own or wouldn't have stopped at.
Amada was an amazing tour guide. We tried delicious food that we would otherwise not have tried and we loved it. We even went back to several of the places she took us. She gave us a good overview of the city as well and took us to some areas we didn't know existed. She had a passion for the food and the city and we highly recommend this tour. There we five of us and all of us had been to Puerto Vallarta for years, but with this tour we learned more about the city and experienced some of its finest food stands. The price was a real value for all we got. We all love food and the places we ate at were all top notch. LOVED THIS TOUR and especially Amanda.
Dont eat breakfast! And dont think youve found the best taco in the world until you take this tour. Wonderful Puerto Vallarta street and restaurant dining introduction!
Excellent tour around the old town. Good combination of food, cooked in front of us! Also enjoyed the chocolate shop and tortilla factory. Our guide, Joana, was a star, great sense of humour and a patience of a saint! Definitely recommended.

We took the tour in 2016 and loved it so much we took it again in 2017. Really great way to see what is available in Puerto Vallarta - everything from local street food to samples from nice restaurants, ice cream shops, tortilla factories etc . Wonderful food, wonderful people, wonderful experience.
