This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Chichen Itza, Chichen Itza, Yucatan Peninsula
After boarding the transportation at your hotel and a technical stop of 10 minutes, we’ll begin the route towards our first destination: Chichén Itzá.
The main building is the Kukulkan Castle, known as The Pyramid. It is an icon of the astronomical, architectural, mathematical and engineering knowledge and, together with the platforms, they tell us about the past, with their many sculptures and representations of feathered serpents and Chaac masks, the majestic god of rain that lives in the sacred cenote.
Other places like the monumental Ball Game, The Astronomical Observatory, also known as The Snail and the area of The Church are worth admiring, thanks to their masks from the Mayan classic period. Come and explore with us this World Cultural Heritage Site!
Duration: 3 hours
Stop At: Cenote Hubiku, Temozon, Yucatan Peninsula
The second stop of the day will be in Cenote Hubiku, after getting to know the history of Chichén Itzá. Here, you will be able to cool off in its water and have a relaxing time that you will surely remember forever. The cenote is subterranean, and we will enter it through its stone stairway. Thanks to its opening at the top, with the entrance of the sunlight, the water achieves a beautiful blue color.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Ek Balam
We will finish the tour at Ek Balam, where you can appreciate The Acropolis and its monumental entrance to the underworld, represented in the Uk’it Kan Lec Tok’ grave before being reborn as the mythical god of corn. The grave shows the jaws of a jaguar, flanked by a couple of Mayan “angels” and within it, the archeologists found an offering consisting of more than 7,000 pieces of jewelry in it, made by the best goldsmiths of the time.

Picked up 20 minutes late but we were advised by email that the pick up was late. All as detailed in the itinerary, 2nd stop the food/lunch was at the Cenote you can swim then eat or the other way around. We swam first and the changing rooms where okay as was the food and entertainment. If you want to spend a lot of time at Chichen Itza our 1st stop then maybe do less on another tour but we saw everything on the site with our guide, but we were a little pushed for the free time at the end with only 30 minutes, 10 of which we spent getting back to the beginning, because we had 2 more sites to visit. But it worked for us. Ek Balam our 3rd site, was also a great site to visit. Full 12 hour day for us after being picked up and dropped off at our Playa Del Carmen Hotel. Great guide and Driver and we had a cool box filled with as much water and juice as you could drink. We went on Monday the 29th of April and would use Yalku Tours again. Thank You
Awesome tour, the guides knew their stuff and arranged the trip to avoid the crowds. Very well planed and executed...
Excellent all around tour and a great value. I recommend it above those available at Hotel lobby.Everyone was professional, knowledgeable, with good food and destinations. It is an all day event, will be hot in summer and kids may not like the long day.Thomas Hendricks
Our tour guide was the best. He went above and beyond what I had expected. This exceeded all my expectations.
Alberto was our tour guide who had extensive knowledge and a personal touch to every location. The driver was amazing as well. This is well worth you time and money to do
A well organized day trip. Everything was smooth and easy. Our guide Carmen was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Our driver Hugo was professional and kind. Highly recommended!
My husband and I had a great time on this tour. Our guide, Wilbert, was very knowledgable and passionate about the Mayan culture. The highlight was seeing Chichen Itza in person and cenote Huniku definitely surpassed my expectations. Some constructive feedback I would like to give is making this tour language specific. We were in a Spanish/English combo so having to listen to the information twice felt redundant and took up more time.
Amazing full day of Mayan experience. Arriving early at Chichen Itza is a blessing, as the immense crowds start by the time you are leaving. The cenote is very unique, refreshing, and beautiful and lunch at the restaurant is very good home cooked authentic Mexican food... very fresh and tasty. Ek Balum is lesser known than Chichen Itza but no less spectacular. It was a fantastic, low key way to end the day. The trip from the Riviera Maya is long, and the day a full one, but well worth it. The guide was spectacular knowledgeable, personable, very relaxed, and spectacularly accomodating to a bilingual English/Spanish group. I would not want to do these places without a guide as grascious and brilliant as ours was. The transportation and driver was excellent, and rounded off a great experience we will not forget.
This was an excellent experience from start to finish.
The company organizing the tour was Yalku Tours. We were very lucky to have a very knowledgeable, enthusiastic guide called Francisco. The added pleasure and bonus was the fact the he was a Maya Mexican whose mother language is Mayan. He know a lot and conveyed well the main historic facts. The driver Cesar was polite, cortGeous and a very careful driver. Over all this was an excellent experience and I would strongly recommend this particular tour - a good mixture of history, pleasure and new experiences.
Trip was great, early start and late finish. tour makes the best of the day. I could have spent a little longer at chichen itza, ek balam was a highlight of our holiday.
Abraham was a great guide, did his best! I definitely recommend to book this trip as you will see a lot , you will learn a lot and in reality it is amazing to see what the Mayans could build that time. I also recommend to take some pictures during the speech of the guide, because after that you have max 20 min to look around so for example we didn't even had time to see the observatory at Chichen Itza due to lack of time and that the area is quite big to walk through in 20 mins. However I understand that we had limited time on each place otherwise we would not finish and come back to the hotel till late evening.
Wonderful tour. Carmen was a fantastic guide. You really do get to see a lot in one day, and all the info about ancient Maya culture and religion was really interesting. The Hubiku cenote was absolutely beautiful!
An excellent guide and tour though you may not want to do this one if you are out of shape or have an injury. A long but very informative day having the small group was very nice for this. Drinks were provided along the way lunch was at a very nice buffet. Highly recommended
If you are going to visit Cancun/Playa del Carmen, you must absolutely see all of the historical sites nearby. This was an extremely organized and educational tour -- and you see THREE different places Chichen Itza, Ek Balam and Cenote Hubiku. Lunch is provided at the cenote and it was delicious. Our bus driver was very safe and our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about each site we visited. You even get to climb to the top of Ek Balam. You will also have time to explore the entire grounds of Chichen Itza. Definitely book this tour!
The tour was amazing. The guide Sergio and driver Orlando were very friendly with good services. The tour was well planned and all the attractions were worth to visit. We had a good time on our trip.
Long day, but great tour! Felt a little rushed at Chichen Itza, but so much to do in a short amount of time, it was fine.
We had the most amazing day on this tour! We arrived at Chichen Itza while it was still quiet...and cool! We had a great tour round, our guide was very knowledgeable about the site, the Mayans and Mexico. We had some free time after the tour, and by then Chichen Itza was getting very busy. Next stop was the Cenote - and our group of 10 had it all to ourselves! Buffet was excellent. Ek Balam was the highlight - you get to walk up the top of the pyramid and it was very peaceful, not crowded at all. 100 recommend. It's a full day, but worth it!
Really enjoyed the experience and Pablo our guide was both passionate, knowledgeable and extremely likeable. The tour was so much better than the usual vanilla mainstream holiday company trips you normally get stuck with - being in a smaller group you get so much more time and can enjoy the experience. Would definately use the tour firm again and no hesitation in recommending the trip, company or Pablo.
Note : Just one small issue we had was that we were supposed to ring Yalku tours the day before to confiorm pick up times. Unfortunately we couldn't get an answer on the number supplied by Viator or that on the Yalku website. The mexican operator kept repeating that both numbers were not able to be connected. We spoke to the concierge at our hotel who managed to get a cell phone number from somewhere and confirmed our pick up times for us. We did mention it to Pablo who confirmed both numbers we had were correct so he didnt know what had happened. It didn't spoil our day but thought we would mention it. Enjoy.
Fantastic tour with Pablo and driver Miguel. Pablo is very knowledgable and provides a awesome commentary to all the locations.
The timings throughout the day were great as we seemed to stay ahead of the crowds and had the cenote and ek balam to ourselves.
Would highly recommend this tour :)
