Our driver Victor Soberanis made the sightseeing tour of Cozumel an awesome experience. He was right at the port when we disembarked. We got to see the entire island from the tourist sights to the island culture. Ate at Cocunuts - food was delicious. Had my 80+ year old parents with me. They have been in every N.America state. This was their first excursion outside the US and they thoroughly enjoyed this excusion. Highly recommend!
Spent the day with Jerry our driver and he was very nice an accommodating. We were traveling with 4 kids and he allowed us to tailor our experience to meet our family's needs. Also we left our GoPro in the front seat and didn't realize it, and he was honest and nice enough to call us and come back around to give it back. Highly recommend this company. We saved some money because booking the excursion through the cruise ship would've cost much more and it wouldn't have been a personalized experience. We ended up just doing the chocolate tasting at KaoKao chocolate factory, he pointed out some sights along the way, stopped at a few beach sights on the East coast, and then had a lovely lunch and swimming at Playa Palancar.
Victor did a wonderful job taking us around the island. He told us what was offered and we asked about some other things and we tailored it to fit what we wanted. He was wonderful, patient and helped us enjoy the day. It was perfect!
Sergio was a wealth of knowledge, and as hospitable as could be. He honored all of our requests - there were 6 adults. We were able to see things we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. A great experience!
Excellent service and information provided by Gerry. He rearranged our itinerary to suit our preferences. At the restaurant he encouraged us to review the menu to see if it meets our dietary preferences and budget.
Would highly recommend this excursion! We had a group of six and everyone agrees that Leo was the best tour guide and driver. It was easy to meet up with him after disembarking the ship, he gave us many suggestions and quickly helped us plan our day and get on our way. We started with a very informative tour around Cozumel's landmarks then unto the chocolate factory for a nice education on cocoa farming and chocolate tasting. When visiting other areas we all like to experience local cuisine so we asked Leo for a lunch spot that he himself would go to for a meal and he brought us to the best little spot that we would have never found on our own. We were treated like family and had the best meal of our trip - thank you Leo!! Then we opted out of tequila tasting and went straight to the beach resort. Here too Leo gave us three great options and we decided on the one with off the beach snorkeling. Snorkeling was just okay but the resort itself was nice and safe feeling. All-in-all, a nice time on Cozumel thanks to our tour guide :)
We had a fantastic day, off our ship for the day. We had read reviews stating Leo did a fantastic job, we were very excited when Leo (our tour guide) showed up in the yellow cap, as in instructions, with no problem finding him! We had a party of 5, including one senior with us, and the day was perfectly paced. Our private tour started with sightseeing in San Miguel, Leo gave us a lot of Mayan and local history along with information about the local people, he showed us the "sights" as well as the neighborhoods. We were able to stop several times to take pictures. We then visited the San Gervasio Mayan ruins, based on Leo's recommendation we purchase a tour guide for the ruins, this was well worth the extra money. After the ruins we went to the KaoKao Chocolate factory, to learn how chocolate is made along with tasting. We then decided to skip the Tequila Museum and headed to the beach. We had a fantastic lunch at a outside restaurant on the beach, with some time to enjoy the beach. Leo was very knowledgeable and really made our day perfect, he knew we would be running over our 5 hours a bit, and was not concerned. He dropped us off across the street from the pier so we could end our day with some shopping. We really enjoyed our day on Cozumel, and we would totally recommend Tours Plaza and Leo to any one !
Our guide was amazing. He had the pre planned stuff ready for us to do or offered to change it up if we had something else in mind. He offered great suggestions and was very accommodating.
We had a great time with Gerry on our tour! I highly recommend this tour versus the larger group tours offered off the cruise ships!
Everything was just great. Our driver Sergio was excellent. Showed us all the things we wanted to see and offered many helpful suggestions. Don't know how he could of done more. Cat was clean , he drove very safely, and a/c was nice and cold. Perfect!
We really enjoyed this tour. It was a lot of fun. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this one for sure.
Sergio, our guide/driver was amazing. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. He suggested places that were worth to see in Cozumel and was able to share the history of the beautiful island with us. He was also very flexible and open to any suggestions we made about the tour and schedule. That was a fantastic tour an I definitely recommend it to anyone.
This tour was awesome. It was 8 of us Gerardo gery is an spectacular tour guide.we really enjoyed the stops, including the first one for snacks and drinks. The Chocolate and Tequila tour was a hit, he blasted the music in the van it was so much fun.We like the restaurant he took us for lunch.the only bad thing at the restaurant was that the only option was chicken for everything, no beef or anything else.
I would definitely recommend this tour.
Our driver Sergio was courteous, friendly and cared about what we wanted to do. I would highly recommend taking a private tour and truly seeing Cozumel.
It truly was the reviews that sold this excursion for our family... you can trust these reviews, they were spot on! With a group of 8 4 older individuals that cant get around too fast, this was the perfect fit age range 14 -75! No large ship tour groups, they loved having the van to ourselves and to be able to go at their pace. So easy to find once we left the ship area!!! We loved the chocolate and tequila places, but lunch on the beach was the best! No hurry, loved to be able to relax! Food was great! Even stopped at a local grocery store for a special stop and a beach spot for the kids. Everyone loved Victor 1... he even managed to get an invite back to Kansas from my mother-in-law which is huge!. He was so kind, patient and very knowledgeable! He truly made the trip special.
After disembarking our cruise ship we were picked up by Leo our driver at the taxi stand as pre arranged. From the beginning he was polite and helpful. We had a wonderful day with tequila tasting, chocolate tasting and he took us to a great authentic beachside café for some Mexican food and margaritas. As the weather was dreadful raining hard all day we were unable to go to the ruins on Leo's recommendation he drove us around and showed us different places of interest and told us about life in Mexico. He was full of information and spoke great English. I would highly recommend this tour. The only negative was the weather which is out of anyone's control.
This was an exceptionally well organized, wonderful tour. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area, what would be best for us to do and tailored it to our tastes right in the beginning. We planned the day before we left the cruise port, so we went in a logical pattern based on location and didn't lose time back tracking. We went shopping, tequila tasting, chocolate tasting, local nachos and drinks and then to a natural rock formation for some pictures before heading back. It was a wonderful, relaxed day and our driver became one of the family as he took us from place to place. I have found that with private tours, a lot depends on how good your tour guide is and ours was exceptional.
We had a great at time on our tour of Cozumel. Our guide Kelly was fantastic and extremely accommodating. You would be smart to ask for him. He had helpful tips, provided a wonderful history of Cozumel and answered all of our questions. He was a great ambassador for Cozumel. We visited the San Gervasio ruins hint: take the guided tour and ask for Luis, visited a chocolate factory and sampled some wonderful tequila - even bought a bottle to take home. Kelly, our driver also stopped along the beach for us to take photos and walk along the beach. We even stopped for a snack and the best margarita my wife and I have ever had at a local beach bar/restaurant. All in all, a special trip.
Our driver, Victor, was informative and friendly. We had options to change up the tour based on the time allotted, which was great! We visited the Chocolate Factory, Tequila Factory, San Gervaiso Ruins, and then a beautiful lunch stop not included at a waterfront restaurant. Then as we headed back to port, we had a quick beach stop for some photo ops. It was a packed 5 hours, but so fun, and so great that Victor drove us door to door, while telling about the history of the island. Highly recommend!!!
