Hotel pickups commence approximately 30 - 60 minutes prior to this time, exact pickup time will be advised on reconfirmation.
Times are subject to change due to local traffic conditions.
Your tour begins with hotel pickup from Cancun between 7am and 7:55am, depending on the location of your hotel. You can also head to the meeting point in Plaza La Fiesta. You'll travel by air-conditioned vehicle to Chichen Itza and, once at the site, enjoy a tour with a professional tour guide.
Get a thorough explanation of the ancient Maya culture, their government, religion, calendar, rituals and much more. You will also get to learn about the purpose of the temples at one of the New7Wonders of the World. After the guided tour through Chichen Itza ruins, you will have free time to take pictures of buildings such as the Kukulcan Pyramid, the Great Ball Court, and the Observatory or to just take a walk to explore what was once the most important center of power in the Yucatan Peninsula. You'll also enjoy a buffet lunch after the Chichen Itza tour with two drinks.
After visiting Chichen Itza, you'll head to a refreshing cenote for a swim. Cenotes are natural sinkholes resulting from the collapse of limestone bedrock that exposes fresh water underneath. Cenotes were considered a portal to the underworld and were also the only source of water in the Maya world. Finally, you will make a quick stop at the colonial town of Valladolid and then head back to your hotel.

I enjoyed the full day adventure. We got the plus tour which I was glad because it provided us with breakfast. The tour guides were very knowledgeable. I think the time at Chichen could be shortened so that we have more time at the Cenote. (We only had 45 min at the Cenote) it went incredibly fast since we still had to change and 'shower' before going in the water. The last stop was also very rushed - it was 20 minutes, which I think it should be at least 30min. But overall enjoyed it. The only down was the waiter had drinks for us in the cooler- and he carried stuff that wasn't included like bottled iced tea so it was annoying when he lays out the ice chest for us to grab from and then having to put back our teas because it 'wasnt' included in the plus tour. Last thing- the bus was tight. If the people in front decide to recline their seats, good luck to your legs. The experience was worth it in the end, glad I took on this full day excursion.
Expect a full day trip, but well worth it. Our tour guide, Jesus Cuevas, was easy to understand, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor; very accommodating. Bus was as comfortable as it could be.We chose the basic package. The stop in Valladolid wasn't nearly enough time to look around, but we were on a schedule. Everything else was great. The lunch buffet had great options. Tacos were delicious!
Even though it rained, it was an awesome experience! The tour guides were excellent and very knowledgeable. The only thing I didn’t like about the tour was that the main tour guy kept talking about tips. I know what I need to do and I don’t like to be reminded. Valladolid was only 15 minutes. I wanted to see more of Valladolid. It was a very rushed visit. Main tour guide pushes the gift shop near Chi Chen Itza and it is expensive. The Selva Maya Cenote is breathtaking! Julio kept the refreshments coming! He was awesome on the trip.
A few highlights and tips and issues. The stop at Valladolid is 15 minutes. That is enough time to walk in the church and come back out. So walk fast! The bus ride was freezing cold. My husband and I and the two guys sitting by us were freezing. The cenote was awesome and beautiful. You must pay 1.00 to get life jackets which are mandatory. The changing facilities and bathrooms were very clean. Watch out because they are going to try to sell you everything on this tour. The lunch was really good but I was charged for my drinks. Dont know why! Be careful about buying too much at the lunch site. We spent all our money there and didn't have any money left to buy things at Chichen itza. We were told we would be at Chichen itza for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The first part was a guided educational part and the second part was supposed to be where we could walk around independently. I dont know if we got there late but 15 minutes into us being able to walk around independently they were Closing the park!! All in all very educational, very cool, but bring some money!
This is a third party retailer and GO MEXICO is the one who actually operates the tour. We only had two hours at the site, one hour with a guide and one on our own, which is really not enough time. On the way we stopped at an area that had one big shop that offered all kinds of items to buy and was also our bathroom stop. All prices are fixed so no haggling. My advice, wait until you get to Chichen Itza as you will find all the same things there with so many individual vendors on site that will negotiate...MUCH CHEAPER! One of my biggest issues was that even though I booked the English tour, our tour bus was bilingual. The tour guide would go back an forth from Spanish to English and I felt I lost so much information about the history of Chichen Itza. The site was so amazing and I was so disappointed at the lack of information we received, but at least when we arrived we were broken up into an English group and a Spanish group.
I'll make it short and simple.
The experience was nice, this was our first time seeing a pyramid in person.
However, the whole ride there was horrible! way too long and so many stops.
The buffet lunch was disgusting, thank god we ended up eating at the restaurant outside the pyramids delicious food and inexpensive
This is a 15-16 hours excursion!! so BEWARE
I would suggest next time rent your own car and drive there this was you are not stuck in the middle of nowhere.
The best tour we had on our Cancun trip. The guide was informative and quite funny. The tour bus was modern and comfortable. Chichen Itza was wonderful and the Cenote was beautiful! Last but not least, Open bar means limitless ! so don't hesitate on paying a few extra bucks! :
This was a great tour. Hector was a great tour guide for Chichen Itza. He was so informative and answered all of my questions. The tour bus was modern with comfortable seating. The hosts and drivers were excellent and made the trip very relaxing for the long drive to a from Cancun. We had no problems whatsoever and I would most definitely recommend Transalamex. The tour is all day event lasting 12 to 14 hours but it is well worth it.
The guide was excellent. Very personable and funny. VERY, VERY knowledgeable. I had a great time.
The agency arrived on time to the hotel, we met them and told them to wait for us since we had finished breakfast and had to go across the hotel t get our items. The hotel is pretty big so going all the way to the room and back took about 15 minutes. However they left without us and left a note of NO SHOW, which is completely unacceptable. We then had to get a taxi to the plaza and there waited about 20 minutes to leave, No reason for them to left us. Besides that the tour guide was amazing! I will recommend them but make sure they dont leave you a no show note after they have spoken with you...
My wife and I had an amazing tour. Despite our bus being tired from waking up early in the morning, our tour guide was very energetic and did a great job using humour to keep the group awake and positive. Our guide was very knowledgeable and ensured that our tour was not boring. The sites were very interesting to see and I would recommend that anyone who visits Mexico to see Chichen Itza and nearby tourist sites.
For credit purposes, I would like to mention Translamex in this review.
Thank you so much.
The guides were excellent and did a great job at explaining the Mayan history and culture. It is a long day so bring snacks and water. There is a buffet included which was very good but drinks are not included.
Very smooth no problems at all, they picked us up at the door, Daniel was very informative, as many corona as you want all day! Lunch was amazing buffet, you can buy an umbrella there for $4 usd mucho hot 105, July wear cool clothes! Bus is cold on the way back after swimming in the cenote.
I recently went on a Tour to the Mayan ruins, the Cenote and Valladolid with Translamex Go.Mexico, and it was amazing! We had a great time. Our tour guide Alan, Ivan waiter on the bus, and Raul the bus driver were all very professional and made the trip so much fun! The company send a complimentary bus to picked us up from a nearby location to where we were staying since we stayed outside of the Hotel Zone. We were picked up at 7:05AM from Puerto Juarez. From there we were taken to another hotel to pickup another group of explorers. By 8:00AM we were on our way to Valladolid. We stopped at the Park beautiful and had about 20-25minutes to explore the Church and the Park. We took pictures and then headed back to the bus. We continued our trip through the village and finally made it to the Mayan reservationvillage and shopped a little and ate a delicious lunch with fantastic dancing and music. We finally reached the Chichen Itza by 2:00-2:15pm. It was so hot but so beautiful. So this is the reason why I would highly recommend the Tour Plus...so worth it. Ivan kept those drinks coming. We were very hydrated thanks to this fact. Believe when I say this...you will not regret getting the tour plus. Those extra 15 dollars...are worth the unlimited amount of drinks that you can consume throughout the entire trip. Alan, did and excellent job explaining and going over the history of the Mayan ruins, we later had about an hour 30mins to self explore and take additional pictures and do some souvenir shopping. Finally by 5:00pm or so we made it to the Cenote. It is breathtaking and beautiful and a bit scary. I cannot swim but still was able to enjoy the beauty of it. We finally left the Cenote by 6:00pm or so and made the trip back to Civilization by 9PM. Yes, this is a long trip tour and well worth it if you are up for the challenge. I am so grateful I had a the opportunity to experience this tour with my husband, mother and sister. This is a memory we will forever take with us. Trips like these make you realized how lucky and privileged we are to be Americans. Thank you Alan, Ivan and Raul for sharing with us your entire day, and for making our experience to the Chichen Itza unforgettable. Again, this tour is highly recommended, especially if its done with Translamex Go.Mexico. They were GREAT!!!
This was a great tour! Very informative with plenty of drinks flowing. It does take the whole day so it's not great for short stays. From Cancun I was picked up at my hotel at 07:00 and didn't return back to my room until 20:00. It's a bus, not a shuttle as mentioned on the website.
We purchased the Plus tour along with everyone on the bus, so it may have been torture to be the only on without the added service. The tour guides and driver were very nice. We learned some very interesting facts. The cenote was a highlight of the tour because it got quite humid. We definitely recommend getting a good solid day trip in such as this. All done with a 20 month old in tow. Not an easy feat.
It was an amazing tour. The Chichen Itza is an awe inspiring sight and a must see for any Cancun traveler. Our tour guides from Translamex, Hector and Luigi were very knowledgeable without being dull. The commute was a breeze thanks to their charisma. We also got plenty of time to explore the ruins freely which was great for pictures and souvenir hunting. My only complaint would be feeling rushed during the Valladolid and the Cenote portions. I can see with the travel time and so much time to explore the Chichen sacrifices had to be made. One final advice: the plus package is definitely worth it. All those extras provided by Translamex are definitely worth it.
