- Picked Up an Hour Late: We showed up early as instructed. When they were 10 minutes late, we tried to call, no answer. Had guest services in the hotel call - no answer. Didn't want to waste the day so we sat down with a tour person to plan something else when the hostess showed up 1 Hour Late! No apology, just "well we're here now."- Maximum 14 People? Hardly: Everything we were told (web page, email with "what to expect," etc.) claimed this tour would be a "maximum of 14 people." Lie. We were shoved onto a packed bus with 55-60 people. We were the last picked up so (lucky us!) the last seats were right next to the toilet. Seats were okay but tight - no leg room. - Everything Rushed: Our tour was paired with another bus that was full as well. So everywhere we went the logistics were a nightmare because we were actually a tour of over 100 people. The first stop (Talum) wasn't terribly rushed but was fast (no time for anything but the quick tour, look around for 5 mins and leave for the bus). When we arrived at Coba, we were told we had 50 minutes. The line to get in took 10-15 mins alone. So we paid to have a bicycle guy race us to the ruins, we climbed it as fast as we could, paused for a min or two then climbed down. By then we had 15 minutes to get back to the bus. Paid the bicycle guy for the return and barely made it. The last two stops were 50 mins too. Not a problem at Cenotes - take the stairs down to the cave, jump in the water, leave. The last stop however (Playa del Carmen) was supposed to be for shopping. Really just 50 minutes to race around the stores?! It just wasn't possible. Now mind you, you were constantly warned to be back to the bus on time or they would leave without us (they actually mentioned they left one couple behind at the first stop who were not on time). - Absentee Hostess: At every stop, after the first one, the moment we got off the bus the hostess would disappear. The driver and her helper did not speak English well so there was no hope of getting information outside the instructions at each location. At the last stop I wanted to ask about the drop off. We were concerned since we were the last picked up we would be the last dropped off. Another 3 hours on the bus did not sound enticing, so we were considering just abandoning the tour, going shopping and having dinner. She was nowhere to be found so we just took off, and (leisurely) shopped, had dinner and taxi'd it to the hotel later.Best part of the tour. ;-)

Overall the trip was good. The ruins were great and loved the cenote. Disadvantages: we were picked up late and weren't aware that we are meeting the bus at another point. The guide didnt explain properly at coba,to take bikes instead of walking. We didnt have enough time to reach the pyramid. We had to come back because we didnt wnwt to miss our bus. We were rushed thru everything. We had to stop at another place at night even though that was not included in the trip. It was a long drive.

This trip was a full day with lots to see! We started off with a pickup at our Riviera Maya resort. The pickup was about 30 minutes late, so we were a bit concerned. There were more people than seats available and some children had to ride on their parents' laps. This was disappointing considering that the tour description said there would be a maximum of 14 people on this tour and there were 23 guests in a vehicle that held 20 (not including the driver). The first stop was in Tulum where we met up with the rest of the group for the tour. There were 76 people in total in the tour group! We all crowded around the tour guide, Jimmy, as he shared information about Tulum and the Mayan culture. Jimmy was great- very personable, knowledgeable and entertaining. We entered Tulum as a group and stood and listened to him share about the area for about 20 mins. Then we walked Tulum independently. It wasn't a "guided" tour through the ruins like expected. We also only had about 25 mins to walk the ruins and then return to the bus (which was a bit of a walk) so we found ourselves racing through taking pictures and then speed walking back to the bus.Next we stopped at a restaurant for lunch. It was a mexican buffet and the food was great. Be sure to bring money for drinks as drinks are not included.Next we headed to Coba. We had 45 minutes to independently explore the ruins. That was a very short amount of time to see all of the ruins because they are so spread out over a wide area. We walked to the Ixmoja pyramid which is the tallest pyramid in Coba. The 120 step climb is worth it because the view is breathtaking. Just be careful because it is steep and we saw several people struggling to climb back down. We opted to take the bici taxi back to the exit- otherwise we would have missed our bus! In retrospect we should have rented bikes to tour Coba because there wasn't near enough time to walk the entire ruins.Next we stopped to swim at an underground cenote for about 30 minutes. There were restrooms onsite and a place to change. Everyone was required to shower before entering the cenote. Wetsuits and life vests were available for rent. Afterwards we stopped to walk the streets of Playa del Carmen for 45 minutes; which was great to see, but also not nearly enough time either! Overall this was a great highlights tour but left us wanting to spend more time in each location.

Organized chaos then a long ride in a van with no bathroom but we loved the ruins, just beautiful. They cram a lot into the day and there is no time to spare so be at the van when they say to be or you will be taking a taxi back! They aren't messing around and I appreciate that. Twice on our day trip people were so late that they were left behind after we all waited for them for 15 minutes first. This is a fast paced tour so just be prepared and get back in time, not difficult to do if you have reasonable mobility. The food was good, the cenote was cool and dim and very refreshing after all the hiking. All in all a well run, enjoyable tour visiting some remarkable sites!

This was such a great tour! The tour guide Arthuro was funny and informative. Tulum is beautiful and breath taking. It is just like the pictures. Coba was very interesting. The climb up is totally worth it! The view from the top is gorgeous! Highly recommend. And if you go, DO NOT wear sandals. There is a lot of walking on dirt and uneven pathways. Wear proper walking shoes.
