We were in a small group of five people. We spent two hours at Chitzen Itza, one hour cenote swimming and then we had lunch. Lunch had good variety of food. Mini van had airco so the trip was pleasant despite high temperatures.
The tour company Grayline was soooo professional, so nice, and I really had a great time! The driver had ice cold water for guests, the tour guide at Chichen Itza was so enthusiastic and I was engaged the entire time of the tour. The lunch buffet was really good and the ancient city is just gorgeous! I would book every tour in Merida with Grayline if I could. They were definitely the best tour company I experience and I went on two other separate tours. I was picked up in the morning on time, and the van was really nice compared to some of Grayline competitors. With this ticket, you don't have to worry about any entrance fees, they are all taken care of, and you'll go to Chichen Itza, watch a movie in the planetarium, have a wonderful lunch, swim in a cenote afterwards and really have a great time. I loved it! Highly recommend.
Chichen Itza is hot and unshaded so bring the right clothing. The guide was fantastic and explained everything well!
Gray Lines picked us up at the hotel. The driver was very courteous and helpful. The bus was well air conditioned and the number of guests only five...nice and small. We arrived at Chichen Itza and were escorted to where we needed to be, met our guide who was just superb. Knowledgeable, conscious of time but not at all rushed and very friendly with openness to questions. Previously and with Amigo tour company, we went on a tour of Uxmal where the driver had us in a hot van and did the tour. He talked and talked so much about irrelevant things that it was awful. This tour through Viator was just the opposite. Highly recommended
I would highly recommend this trip to Chichen Itza. It would be a real shame to be in this part of the world and miss one of the seven wonders of the world. The tour price is very affordable and our guide Rosendo was engaging and knowledgeable. I had spent some time studying Mayan History, and still I learned a few new things. Whatever your knowledge base is, you will be amazed.
We had a wonderful, informed guide who spoke at length on the Maya culture and traditions. Wonderful lunch buffet.
Chichen Itza is extraordinary. While visitors cannot climb on the ruins, they are still an extraordinary experience I was happy to have brought a small pair of binoculars. Travelling alone, I was fortunate to be in the company of only four other people on my tour a charming family, so never had the feeling of being part of a big herd. Our guide, Jose hoe-sway was well informed, found the right pace for our group, and gave us time to explore on our own. While there are many people selling handicrafts at stalls ringing the perimeter of the site, this was not a distraction. Lunch was good, and stopped at a cenote on the way back to Merida. There were a lot of folks jumping in for a swim, so I decided just to watch, but the others on the tour took a dip and seemed to have a great time. Visitors may rent life preservers and towels for a few pesos.
Tour was AWESOME! We went first to a cenote in Yokdzonot. Then headed out to Chichen Itza with a good guided tour in both English and Spanish. The place is amazing and you have enough time for pictures. Then we had buffet lunch in a hotel nearby and the food was really good. Then we finished off with a cenote called Xcajum. I highly recommend this tour for your visit. Tour guide Santiago deserves a medal for his efforts!
Chichen Itza was lovely. The hotel we had lunch at was also excellent. Unfortunately we were we a couple that never understood being on time and kept delaying us at each stop. Thus ended up being a longer day than usual. Could have skipped the Cenote not included in price. It was nothing special since we did not swim.
The site tour was excelent and the lunch was also very good.
However pick-up at my hotel was delaied 30 minutes later than what was anounsed in your web site
and I remained very anxisious.
My tour guide was so kind and patient with all of us. One of my best trips.
We had an absolutely amazing time! If you're going on a hot day it was 104 degrees fahrenheit when we went you'll need a hand towel, lots of sunscreen, a reservoir bag for constant hydration, and a good hat. I would have been a lot worse off without it.
Anyway - our tour guide's name was Josue Hoh-sway and he was magnificent. He gave us details about every little part of Chichen Itza in both English and Spanish. Every aspect of the tour was incredible, from the ride to Chichen Itza itself to the amazing buffet. I recommend asking your tour guide to take you to a local cenote we went to Ik Kul after to cool off.
The tour was wonderful . Very informative. The ruins look even more amazing in person. My guide Wilbreth was very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend his tour to anyone. Make sure you wear a hat!
Very good organization and an amazing guide who really enjoyed what he was doing, it was just a great day!
It was an amazing experience and the tour guide was fascinating story teller.
Chichen Itza has become very commercialized and overrun with tourists. I was hoping that with the heat and humidity, there wouldn't be that many people. I was wrong. I couldn't get a decent picture without photobombers. Other than that Mayaland Tours did a good job with comfortable transportation, good guide Wilbert and decent lunch included. I would still highly recommend this tour despite all.
Amazing experience, highly recommend it. Our guide Wilberth spoke great English, was prompt and provided a great ride and tour through the site. No complaints.
Beautiful grounds they do a great job of maintaining the site. One thing that is surprising is that there is much more to see than just the Chicken Itza pyramid. The site is like a campus, with lots of buildings. Every walkway is filled with shops to buy from local artisans. The buffet has a lot of choices, but not gluten-free. If you need gluten-free, they can make it for you. They also have a vegetarian section. Our guide was Augusto, who spoke decent English.
