Your cenote-sampler adventure begins with hotel pickup from Playa del Carmen, where your guide greets you with coffee and pastries. Relax during the 30-minute ride to Puerto Morelos, and learn how the geological composition of the Yucatan Peninsula is uniquely susceptible to moisture absorption, allowing for cenote formation.
At Xenotes Oasis Maya, a new park operated by Experiencias Xcaret, you’ll visit four cenotes based on their age, which determines the openness of the cenote to the surface and the strength of its currents relative to the underground river network. Each cenote on your itinerary today also represents a natural element: fire, wind, earth and water. The ancient Mayans built their villages near these sinkholes that provided natural sources of water, and treated them as pathways to commune with the gods. Guarding over each cenote area is an alux, a spirit-being and caretaker of the jungle, who shares characteristics of his territory. The Mayans often asked aluxes for permission to enter a field or cenote to protect crops or ward off thieves.
As you approach the ‘fire’ cenote of K’aak, an example of an open cenote, listen to the free-flowing river currents and admire the lush flora thriving on vertical walls. Your guide shares with you that alux K’aak was known for vitality and for encouraging people to live in the moment. Do your part and jump into a kayak, or float in an inner tube, and admire the gorgeous landscapes around you.
At the ‘wind’ cenote of Lik’, fly high and zipline over the pool of water, much like the volatile alux who loved to soar above his domain. The limestone walls of this ancient cenote have fully collapsed, blocking much of the access to the underground river system. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the gentle currents here.
Embody the fun-loving spirit of alux Lu’um as you rappel down the rock walls of the ‘earth’ cenote, a semi-open cenote. Here, water flows horizontally through the aquifer of the tunnels and caves.
Visit the ‘water’ cenote of Ha’, a cavern cenote with aquatic fauna and eye-catching rock formations. As you snorkel and discover a water underworld of water-lily gardens and colorful fish, take in the sense of harmony and peace cultivated by the alux-in-residence.
After each cenote, sip on champurrado (a thick, chocolate-based Mexican drink) or coffee, and snack on cookies. Before drop-off at your hotel, enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch, including fusilli-vegetable soup, a premium selection of cheeses and deli meats, and rustic breads and fresh salads. Coffee, wine, beer and water (in addition to soft drinks and seasonal fruits provided en route) are included.

Best tour ever !! Rapelled into one cenote, ziplined into another, kayaked in another, swam in another. Was a fantastic day.
Everything was so beautiful and pleasant. We really enjoyed our small group and all the different activities. This isn't a lazy excursion - lots of swimming and other physical activity. It's also a wonderful way to experience the cenotes.
Really fun tour. Zipped lined, snorkeled, repelled, and swam all in the different cenotes we saw that day. Plus some other activities. We also saw many different aged cenotes which was really interesting. Eduardo was our guide, Andy was our photographer ,and they were great. They really made sure everyone had a lot of fun. Definitely ask for them. Overall, a fun day for my whole family. I would definitely recommend this activity/tour.
We absolutely loved this tour! Most favorite part of our trip. Something fun for any adventure seeker. They provide, water, bio-degradable sunscreen, showers, towels, snacks/lunch, drinks etc. We loved repelling, kayaking, zip lining, cliff jumping optional, swimming under water falls. It was beautiful. We saw so much wild life on the tour to. Beautiful pictures. The only thing I would change is the photographer that they have help with the tour charges kind of a lot for the pictures. We would have bought them had they had been a little cheaper. Lunch was good and simple. Bathrooms and showers were nice at all the Cenotes. We recommend water shoes or closed sandels because of the frequent change of cenotes and land. The bus was air conditioned and picked up/dropped off at our hotel. Our guide was wonderful and made us feel like family! Cant wait to go again. Highly recommend for couples and families with children over 6.
Vladimir was a wonderful tour guide. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour through the five cenotes and highly recommend it to anyone who loves adventure!
We had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend this excursion. The one thing I was not happy with was the photographer, Jamie that traveled with the group and took pictures throughout the day. Be careful of this. He is very good and did take great photos, but as he tells you the photos will cost 50.00 to access them on the internet. He doesn't tell you that it will cost another 79.00 to upload them without the Xenotes logo plastered on the photo. This I thought was a total rip off.
Yoshua was our tour guide and he was not only very knowledgeable about the jungle and cenotes but super funny! Snorkeling, kayaking, cave descent and just viewing everything around was amazing. The snacks and refreshments were after every stop! They really catered to the group and it was so much fun. It is well worth the money and the time! With transportation provided it was super convenient. I really recommend this trip!!!!
My 9 year old daughter and I went on this tour last month. It was a really fun day. There was ziplining, kayaking, swimming, and even jumping off cliffs if you were so inclined. I was initially nervous about signing up because of all the activities but none of them were too strenuous and if you really didn't feel comfortable doing something, you could easily opt out. There were many activities throughout the day which kept the day interesting and you were able to see many different types of cenotes as well as learn a little about them and how they were formed. The lunch was very good and the tour guide spoke both English and Spanish so no one felt left out.
Very good. Lots of fun. The guides take real good care of you. The meal is also very satisfying.
Travel provided via shuttle to 4 different cenotes and events. It was organized and executed really well. Lunch was delicious. The guides and staff were knowledgeable . Highly recommended!
Our guide was spectacular!!!! I cannot say enough about this excursion. It was amazing seeing the 5 xenotes and learning about the formation. It was a lot of fun rappelling down, zip line, jumping off the cliff all of it was great. Someone lost their camera in the last one and our guide dove 27 ft to get it!. The food they provided was delicious and the snacks in between were great too! I highly recommend this tour.
The xenotes are beautiful to see. The snorkeling was a bit disappointing as there was not much to see. The picnic lunch was very good and our guide Josh was great.
A great day! My family took this tour on our first day in Mexico. LOVE the cenotes! The tour was very professional and smooth. We had a fantastic time in 5 different cenotes. The water is amazing. Do not miss this!
This was a great tour. We went to 4 different locations and each one was more beautiful than the next. We did zip lining and swimming I believe we even did some kayaking. The lunch was good and the trip was one to remember. Me and my husband highly recommend.
If you only do one tour in Cancun, do this one!! The scenery was gorgeous, the cenotes were clear and beautiful, there were fun activities at each of the multiple cenotes you visit it was like a completely natural water park built into the jungle, and the lunch and snacks were excellent! I can't think of anything bad to say about this experience!!
This was an interesting tour with lots of variety. There is a Zipline into the first cenote area. You rappel into a really pretty blue cenote / cave and are allowed to dive off a diving board. You snorkel in another cenote they said it was murky this particular day - I didn't find much to look at either way. Then you kayak for a bit. The last area has a zipline that you can go off of 2 or 3 times. My kids enjoyed it. I wish that their picture packages were more reasonable. I would have bought one if a little less expensive!! If you have a way to take a water proof pouch for your camera, I would do it! The bus / van was very nice and the tour guide was great. No complaints.
We loved this tour. Our guide was wonderful and like a hen, making sure we were all there and enjoying ourselves. The places are beautiful and it's hard to believe they were even found, so far off the beaten track. There was plenty to do and see and the breaks between denotes were welcome. The snacks and lunch were perfect. We had a great time.
Oh my goodness!!!! What a fantastic day!!!!! Helois our guide was absolutely amazing - he kept us informed about all the cenotes and also laughing all day! My children and I were the only English speakers in out group but we NEVER felt ignored or that we were left out. Freddie our photographer was amazing and 100 would absolutely encourage this tour!!!! It was the highlight of our trip to Mexico!!!!!
