The trip out to visit the site was well worth it. Informative guide and Interesting ethnography if somewhat less than its spectacular relatives in Mexico City. Great lunch at el rancho after the tour
Our anthropologist guide, Alberto Aveleyra, provided an excellent tour to the site. He provided many facts and history about Canada de la Virgen pyramid site and also facts about San Miguel and the countryside on the trip to the Site. The tour was enjoyable and very worth our time and money. He not only has great knowledge but it is apparent that he really enjoys his work. I highly recommend this tour.
This tour was wonderful. Alberto was the best guide we have ever had. His knowledge of archeology, history, and comparative cultures was astounding. His enthusiasm brought everything to life.

Alberto was a fantastic guide, very passionate about his subject. The tour was very comprehensive, the pyramid site gorgeous. The walk and the steps up to the pyramid were a lot easier than I thought they would be. So fascinating.
We enjoyed the beautiful site. Alberto was an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide and enhanced our enjoyment of the tour immeasurably.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of this fascinating site. Our guide, Alberto, is an expert on the archaeology of the area, and has an infectious passion for the details. He will lead you through many of the current theories about the people who built the amazing structures, their beliefs, and their understanding of complex celestial patterns. A day well spent exploring these ancient ruins of a fascinating people.
The home cooked lunch at a nearby rancho was a wonderful experience of simple Mexican food at its best. Local and ranch-grown ingredients, fresh homemade queso Fresca cheese, and juicy sweet local mandarin oranges were highlights.
You won't be disappointed!
This tour was a highlight of our trip. Our guide Alberto was so engaging and enthuastic about showing us everything. He made great efforts to include everyone. It was an afternoon very well spent, worth the fee, and the lunch at the ranch should not be missed. Thank you!
Our tour of Canada .la Virgen was spectacular. Arnoldo , our guide, was truly the best and most knowledgeable of any guide I've ever encountered in any country. He was also delightfully entertaining and truly loves his country. I learned more in 3 hours about San Miguel and its history than in the 4 months I've lived here. If you go, be sure and ask for Arnoldo. My guests from Texas said it was the high point of their trip.
The tour guide was very knowledgeable and made it a great experience. Also, highly recommend doing the meal with the tour.
This was a fascinating tour of an amazing site. The leader was extraordinarily well prepared and informative. Well worth the day.
The guide was terrific! He was knowledgeable and very personable. We were at times with another group with a well-known guide who didn't have as much fun.
Our tour guide was outstanding. He brought the site to life with knowledge and passion.
Beautiful site, outstanding tour guide, delicious food. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic he made the site come to life and made connections with other sites in Mexico. South America and the US. He also spoke about the surrounding landscape and its connection to the site. We could feel the ancient pilgrims walking up to the site, making offerings, praying.
Alberto is an amazing person as well as an informative guide. It is obvious that he loves his work and his country. He was patient and kind to us and to the women on the ranch where we ate a wonderful fresh meal. We are so grateful to him! Thank you!
