Excellent food tour in San Miguel. Our guide Giulianna was very knowledgeable and took us to some excellent restaurants. She was also very knowledgeable about the history of the town. The best was the sorbet and Carmel churros. A very fun 3 hours!!
We really enjoyed our walking food tour with Val. She was so knowledgeable with the history of San Miguel. We not only got to experience some great food but also got a history lesson along the way!
Our family went on a tour with Vail and she was wonderful. She talked about San Migue's history and she showed us fun sights as well as taking us to amazing restaurants. We went back the next day to one of the restaurants! She is very knowledgeable and loves what she does. I recommend Vail for any of the food tours that she leads. When we return to San Miguel, we will definitely sign up for another food tour.
Amazing tour. Well paced. Plenty of great food to sample. Vail is a fantastic tour guide. Quite a bargain. Would recommend to anyone visiting SMS.. take the your early in your visit to learn about many great stops in the city!
Vale was a fantastic guide-informative and fun. We had seven delicious food stops and our 3 hour tour turned into a 5 hour one. Would definitely recommend.
We did the Taco and Tequila and also this food tour. It was great! Vail is very imformative, interesting, and such a nice person! I highly recommend any tour with with her. Thanks so much!
San Miguel was amazing!!! The culture, people, hotels and restaurants were fabulous. Traveling with my sisters made the trip even more special. I hope to return someday.
I can't believe how quaint and close everything is. The food was amazing! Our guide Eric explained a lot about the history of San Miguel which is fascinating. Be sure to come hungry these dishes are the size of tapas.
Outstanding, unusual, fun and very informative! I learned so much about San Miguel de Allende - beside eating delicious food!
awesome tour. Our guide, Vail was knowledgeable and entertaining. The venues chosen were unique and a diverse representation of what San Miguel has to offer foodies. I would highly recommend as a worthwhile experience.
The guide was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Not only did we go to several restaurants, she pointed out several historical monuments and talked about the city itself.
The restaurants were all very lovely. My only recommendation is to go to the ice cream place at the end of the tour and not before another meal. Ice cream is a dessert.. Right?
Nevertheless, it was a delightful tour!
This was a terrific way to begin our ten days in San Miguel. Not only do you get to discover some very special locally owned eateries serving authentic regional food, our guide shared historical knowledge of the town thoughout our walk from venue to venue. We started with civiche made from seabass in a Peruvian locale. It was exquisite! Other tastings included black mole, homemade ice cream, and tequila in an almost 100 year old cantina. Book now as you will not regret it!
Plan this tour on an empty stomach! We went on this tour on 2/23/17. Our tour guide Vail, was ecxellent. She was knowledgeable about SMA after living there for 19 years. She gave great information about the places we visited and the food we ate. It was a four hour tour which was nicely paced, and the choices of foods were fantastic! Having tequila and dessert at the end was just perfect. In fact, my husband and I went back the next day to the churro place for more. So delicioso! There are a few other type of tours offered so there are different choices for your taste buds. Would highly recommend!
On our first full day in San Miguel de Allende, we booked the Taste of San Miguel walking tour. We made seven stops, including the 1 rated restaurant in San Miguel. Vail, our guide, was a most enthusiastic and knowledgeable ambassador for the city. Along with a diverse selection of food stops, she shared information about San Miguel's rich history and pointed out some of the most famous landmarks. It was a perfectly wonderful way to spend an afternoon. And it was a great way to become familiar with the city on our first day here. Vail also provided us with a list of some of the many other restaurants she recommended for future visits, along with a map which marked their locations. I highly recommend Vail and the tour to first-time visitors, as well as seasoned ones.
This lunchtime venture was delightful, tastewise and otherwise. Our guide Vail was superb. She lent a unique perspective to the experience with her knowledge of San Miguel history. She brought out the best in each participant. We're all for doing the evening tour when we return to SMA, and we hope Vail leads it.
Walking through the streets of San Miguel with our guide, Vail, was a wonderful way to get to know the town on our first day. We visited 8 very different venues from upscale to street vendor, met some interesting people, tasted local specialties like mole and tequila, and best of all had the chance to ask Vail tons of questions about life in San Miguel, where she an American by birth has lived for almost 20 years. I recommended it to everyone we met in SMA, and am happy to do so online. You do not want to miss this!
Eric was our knowledgeable guide. He had great food recommendations and told stories about life in San Miguel both present and past. The walk was easy, but if you are handicapped or a very slow walker I might recommend a different activity. Be sure to note any food allergies in advance. The restaurants were very accommodating at short notice, but it would be easier on the group for you to let them know in advance. All of the food was excellent and we went back to most of the restaurants during the rest of our stay.
