This was the most fun...most educational tour we've taken in years and thanks to Alejandro it will be a lifetime of good memories. Alejandro picked us up from our hotel right on time and drove us to several towns, one being Tequila. We were given one on one VIP service from both places we visited. The first place was Herruda, and there our guide spent several hours showing the entire process of making tequila. We were so in awe of all the work that goes into making Tequila. Our guides named was also Alejandro at the Herruda plant. We were given quite a few tastings, and of course purchased some of the finest tequila's made, and some are not available to purchase in the US. There we went to lunch across the street from Jose Cuervo, and had an excellent authentic mexican lunch. I forgot the name of it but you can't miss it. We walked a bit through the Jose Cuervo shops Jose Cuervo owns almost everything in this town and then off we went to a very smal boutiquel distillery named Arette, one of the oldest names in Tequila and most again an out of this world tequila. I am so glad our guide Alejandro took us to these places because we wouldn't have had this one on one and in-depth look at JC. Because JC owns everything, including Patron everyone thinks their tequila is the best which it is not. They are just so big and big on their marketing they overshadow all the finer places. Very showy. If you can find someone like Alejandro to take you to some of these small and incredible boutique distilleries you will learn what the best is. The tour was 100.00USD per person and well worth it. Please tip your guide XTRA if you've had the most wonderful experience
