Tour departs 1.5 hours after cruise ship's arrival
After your cruise ship arrives in port at Costa Maya, make your way by yellow taxi (fare included) from the pier to the dive center – just a short drive away. Your 2-tank scuba diving shore excursion begins with a boat ride on the Caribbean Sea to one of the many great dive sites within easy reach. Your PADI-certified dive master will create a safe and fun adventure by choosing the best sites to accommodate your skill level (prior certification required) and ensure that everyone in the group is prepared.
Enjoy great visibility and easy drift diving along with a wealth of underwater marine life right in the center of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef – the largest reef in the northern hemisphere. Keep an eye out for colorful corals, sea sponges, eagle rays, sea turtles and scores of tropical fish! Diving in this area is especially enjoyable because currents are minimal and water temperatures are comfortable year-round.
You’ll dive to an initial depth of around 75 feet (23 meters) for your first tank. During a surface interval back at the dive center, enjoy water with fruit or a snack. After your guide takes you out to another site, diving to a depth of around 55 feet (17 meters) for your second tank, head back to the Costa Maya cruise port by taxi (own expense).
Worry-free Shore Excursion:We will ensure your excursion ends with ample time for you to return to the Costa Maya port for your ship’s departure. In the extremely unlikely event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

This team of folks work hard to provide an authentic Costa Maya dive experience that is personable and friendly. Just a short walk outside of the cruise port area I easily found the excursion group, and I was shuttled to the dive center and escorted right to their front door. The taxi ride back is on your own, but the taxis are literally just around the corner waiting for you. Great experience.
Great dive with Jorge. Very professional. I was pleased when I left the terminal after a short walk a man was holding a sign with my name. They took me to the dive shop and off we went. My dive buddy didn’t cone so I had private dives!
I love the dives sites,40 Cannon’s is one of my favorites!
Very good service from a small dive shop. Good variety of coral and fish on the reef. I will bring my daughter back next time.
Seemed a little disorganized. My group of three arrived early at the meet up and waited. Our meet up was not on time had to ask around finally found someone who know him but he was busy and we were told to wait for someone else. Then the dive master showed up. we quickly got into our gear and off we went. The first was a little more advanced than expected. By that I mean we went through a few canyons that I was rubbing on both sides and my hoses got hung up. It included the tiniest bottle of water of water in between dives but no snack as stated. Great couple of convenience stores right there though cheap. Second dive was a lot better. Got back to the ship in plenty of time. The equipment was included but I wish I would have packed my own regulator at least as theirs seemed a little rough to breathe through and with the canyons I should have brought gloves and a rash guard. That warm of water I would overheat in a wetsuit so though it would be ok. It was nice and private with just the three of us. Boat was great staff good and dive sites were good for what I have experienced.
