What to Expect What to Expect

Your tour starts early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cancun. Meet your private guide and head to the archaeological site of Chichen Itza.
Start your guided tour with a certified guide and learn all about this incredible place. Chichen Itza means "at the mouth of the Itza well” and it was the most important city during the Mayan empire. It is located in the Yucatan Peninsula between Valladolid and Merida. The city was established before Christopher Columbus set foot in America and served as the religion center of Yucatan. Today, Chichen Itza is the second most visited site in Mexico and is considered one of the new seven wonders of the world. You will see its most iconic buildings including the famous Kukulkan Pyramid.
After your guided tour, you will enjoy a delicious lunch at either Chichen Itza or Valladolid. Then, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Cancun by private vehicle.

It seems like perhaps the incorrect tour was provided to us erroneously, thus the lower rating. I intentionally booked this tour since it was focused ONLY on Chichen Itza...the goal being to get a more in-depth experience of this amazing historical site than with other tours. While seeing Chichen Itza is definitely worth doing, this depth of information was not above-and-beyond other tours and our tour still ended up including other things, like a cenote and typical colonial town which meant the tour was not a 12 hour tour that only included Chichen Itza as described on the site. Lunch at the cenote was definitely NOT a highlight. That being said, Luis tour guide was knowledgeable about the site and the tour of Chichen Itza was good.
