Board air-conditioned transport from your Playa del Carmen hotel early in the morning and head to a Maya village on the Yucatán Peninsula. You'll visit Pac Chen or Chimuch for insight into how Mayas live today. Part of your tour proceeds are devoted to help maintain the sustainable development of local Maya communities.
In Chimuch, meaning ‘mouth of the frog’ in the Mayan language, discover a small traditional village. In contrast, Pac Chen is a little larger and contains both palm-thatched and cinder-block homes. Your guide introduces you to some of the local people, and then takes you into the nearby jungle for a sampling of adventurous activities.
Rappel your way down a cave into a cenote, and enjoy wading through clear blue waters. If you visit Chimuch, hear about Cenote de la Vida, which holds historical and religious significance in Maya culture.
Zoom through the rain forest on two ziplines, and then take an easygoing canoe ride on a lagoon dotted with birds. Back in the village, receive a blessing from a Maya shaman and learn about the native plant life in the local natural reserve.
For lunch, dig into a buffet lunch: chicken prepared with Maya ingredients, vegetable soup, rice, beans, potatoes, pasta, empanadas and handmade tortillas.
Next, head to the ruins of Coba, an archaeological site stretching across approximately 43 square miles (70 square km). Wander through this ancient Maya civilization dating back to some time between 500 and 900 AD. During your two hours here, encounter a network of roads, large stone monuments called stelae and hieroglyphic texts.
The highlight of Coba: Climb the steps of Nohoch Mul, the second-tallest Maya pyramid in the region. At the top, 140 feet (42 meters) above the rain forest floor, soak up stunning panoramas of the Yucatán Peninsula.
Please note: A minimum of two people per booking is required. Depending on the day’s schedule, the trip to Coba may take place before the visit to the Maya village.

Great tour. Enjoyed the Zip lining. Was well organised. Coba was very impressive.
The tour guide Euri was amazing. The ruins at Coba were pretty cool as well. The zip lining was overrated as well as the cenote. I was not fond of swimming in bat droppings. The water was very cold too (it was a cave cenote). I would save your money and book for $50 less when you arrive at Mexico
The tour was incredible! The repelling into the cenote, the zip lining, canoe ride, even climbing pyramid at the coba ruins! Everything exceeded my expectations and Eddie was an amazing guide. We laughed the whole time. Make sure to carry good walking shoes. I paid $30 for all my pics plus video
This is a fantastic, full day tour! A ton of activities and our tour guide, Euri, was incredibly knowledgable and personable. Highly recommend!
