First you will get strapped in your harness and start the ziplining course through the canopy and canyons! The course takes you into a steep canyon over a turbulent river, where you will zipline, rappel and rock climb, cross hanging bridges and ride Tarzan swings. You will go down 8 zip line cables, 18 platforms, a climbing wall, a hanging bridge, “via ferrata” (cable) rappel, and a tarzan swing!
After ziplining, you will return to the tour base to prepare for a 45-minute horseback ride through the forest viewing the local flora and fauna of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano
You will arrive on horseback to the changing rooms to get ready for your river tubing adventure. There will be a short briefing about safety on the river. Then it’s just a short walk to the foot of the Victoria Waterfall where the tubing adventure begins. You will have the time of your life bouncing down Rio Negro’s crystal clear and fun rapids in your individual rafting “tube” for over 5 kilometers. The guides will be riding down with you to ensure your safety.
You will then be driven back to have a plentiful full buffet lunch. There are plenty of options for dietary restrictions such as vegetarians, gluten free, and vegan. Includes a salad bar, many choices of entrees and sides, dessert bar, fresh juice, coffee and tee.
Duration: 7 hours
Location: Rincón de la Vieja National Park
After lunch you will driven to the Hot Springs. Surrounded by tropical dry forest, the Río Negro (Black River) Hot Springs feature ten pools with thermal waters heated naturally by the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano. The soothing mineral waters are crystal clear and all natural, and the river flows through the pools constantly refilling them with water. Relax and enjoy luxuriating in our healing waters. You can also try our volcanic mud “bath”, where you smooth volcanic clay mud all over yourself like a spa “masque,” then after it dries, wash it off with a cool river water shower. The hot springs water will feel great afterwards!

First off, Our guide Paul with Native ways was excellent. He was funny, knowledgeable and got you to your destinations quick and safe. If you’re looking to do basically everything in one day this is the tour to do. Highly recommend!
This was an amazing excursion and was great value. The tour van picked us up on time and our guide, Martín, was very knowledgeable, friendly, and spoke great English. Can't recommend this enoigh. Make sure to bring lots of sunscreen and a pair close toed shoes to wear in the water for the river tubing.
Pablo was a fantastic guide! We had a blast the whole day. Everything on this tour was amazing! Highly recommendeda
This was the highlight of our trip! We took the tour from Tamarindo and even though it was a long day, it was worth it! Our driver was Paul and he was amazing. He went above and beyond for our group. The food was fantastic at the buffet lunch. The ziplining did take a little while waiting sometimes but it was fine because our group was chatty and got to know one another. Plan to be gone all day.
This tour was amazing! We wanted to do it again. I would suggest leaving this tour second to last day of your trip because nothing else will beat this! Leave the best for last. All other reviews describe this trip perfectly. I will add a couple of things. For the horse back riding, wear shorts/pants that will go down to your knees for a more comfortable ride. Also, if you have never been on a horse, calm down, the horses know what they are doing and know where to go, just sit, relax and go with the flow. We witnessed a couple of people freaking out for no reason. For the tubing, you will carry the tubes down to the river, under 5 minutes, so be ready for some upper body strength. Don't be scared of the rapids or falling out of the tubes, if you fall out, the guides are they to pull you back unto the tubes if you are unable to do it yourself. Follow the guides directions all will go smoothly and you will have a blast! I definitely recommend this excursion because everything was better than I had expected. Lunch was also yummy!
We had a fabulous time at Guachepelin. We were picked up by Paul, our driver, tour guide, and escort, at the JW Marriott at 6:00am. Yes, it was a long day, but yes,
it was worth it! After picking up several other people at various hotels, we made it to Guachepelin and began our canopy tour. The guys who run the zip lines are professional, safety-conscious, and very nice. The zip lines are incredible, with some going over the trees, while others go across rivers. There is one platform which allows you to repel down and then rock climb back up to the platform. You can choose to do it or not. There’s also a Tarzan swing from one side of the river to the other. It was all a blast. After zip lining, we rode horses through the forest. The trail was rocky, but the horses were sure-footed and very well behaved. It was a typical trail ride. The horses followed along, mostly walking, a few slow trots to catch up with horse in front of you. As a seasoned rider, I was pleased to see that they require helmets for the ride. (Actually, all 3 experiences require helmets) We then took a short bus ride to the beginning of the white water river tubing. Each individual has his or her own tube. The ride is crazy, but soooo fun! We were in the tubes for about an hour. You will experience about 25 rapids with some “lazy river” tubing in between. We felt safe the entire time, with the guides helping us through the rapids and bumping us back into the flow of the river. My 17 and 20 year old daughters wanted to go again after we were done. It was about 2:15 when we returned to the lobby area and then we went to the dining room and ate a typical Costa Rican meal. After, we got back into our van with Paul and drove to the hot springs for a dip. It was well with the time and cost of this amazing day!
My husband and I had a blast on this excursion. The ziplining portion was more than I thought it would which turned out to be amazing! Since we were on our honeymoon, we felt it was worth them taking the photos so we didn't have to worry about the hassle of keeping up with our phones or go-pros. You get so hot after ziplining and horseback riding that it was nice to cool down with the river tubing which was so much fun. I highly recommend this excursion!
the tour was amazing. the water tubing was so much fun. it had rapid falls and was relaxing in between. our tour guide was great! he was helpful and he was very fun. everyone there was just so warm and nice. when we did the zip lining, there was one you jump off, please make sure ladies that your nails are cut because you have to climb the wall once you land and you don't want to rip your nail off. highly recommended to have water shoes since you'll be doing the water tubing. we also did a mud bath and hot spring. it was very enjoyable. the hot springs are man made but the water is geothermic water heated from the volcano. they also have waterfalls in the same park so if your interested in doing more activities you can go to the water falls which where so so beautiful. highly recommended.
Best part of our trip to Costa Rica. The tour guide and driver were awesome and fun, the food was delicious, and the activities were phenomenal! It was also really nice to be able to buy a picture package of our zip lining experience too. The horseback riding portion was a little hot and uncomfortable, but honestly, the whole thing was well worth the money and we felt safe and had a blast!
This was a phenomenal experience! Four different activities made for a great day. The food at lunch was excellent and our guide took care of us the whole way. Zip-lining was fantastic and the scenery was absolutely beautiful! The horses were well-trained which made it a fun experience. The hot springs were awesome at the end of a busy day.
I had the most amazing time on this excursion! It superseded my expectations for the price! I was forutnate to have a great group of travelers along for the ride and my tour guide Miguel was excellent. I felt super safe on the zip-lining and it was my first time! The water-tubing was my favorite part for sure! I loved ending the day with the hot springs. Miguel was even kind of enough to take us to see a waterfall outside of our agenda! Super recommended!
Jockssy and Alex our tour guide and driver were absolutely amazing!! They made our day SO special, they went out of their way to explain history, culture, and folklore. They were on-hand for anything we might need or want. Munchas gracias Jockssy y Alex! The Guachipelin Adventure was well worth it! The tubing was so much fun, and the crew takes action pictures available for purchase! They provide exceptional shots that only those at precise vantage points could capture! Buy them! The buffet lunch was delicious! A grand selection of choices. The zipline experience was exceptional, a truly well thought out sequence of events, with safety measures taken seriously. The crew is friendly, knowledgeable, and very much attuned to making sure that everything is in place for a safe, fun ride. The rock climbing was so good, but it is hard well, we are pushing 60 years old. A Tour, and the price is A too! Joe and SaraJean
Best zip line and amazing river tubing. The guides were wonderful and made our trip great and fun! I highly recommend this trip for those adventurous travelers. A bit strenuous for some I would imagine.
This tour was a great experience. The tubing was so much fun and really exciting. The zip line was incredible, going through some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever experienced. The guides on both of these adventures made sure we were safe as well as having fun. Highly recommend!
We had an amazing time on this tour - definitely a full day venture but our tour guide Paul kept us laughing the whole way. He really made the experience for us - taking care of all photo opps so we could just enjoy the little moments and relax without worrying about capturing the pictures. We did more in one day then I think you'll get out of most tours, and since it's a bit far out, would definitely recommend this tour to get the full experience - worth every cent!
Awesome! Paul was our guide and he was great! Everyone was very friendly and we never felt unsafe during the entire excursion. Safety was a huge priority. We highly recommend this excursion!
Seriously one of the best tours in costa rica! The guides were super nice and every activity we had planned was amazing!
We were a family of five and picked up at the hotel to take us to our adventure. We had an amazing driver and very friendly and informative tour guide. When we arrive we had the best adventure we would never have expected. We love the zip line the horseback riding the tubing we have Maisie and lunch and then enjoyed our last adventure in a Hot Spring. I would highly recommend doing this Twerk it was well worth the cost
This was an incredible tour. Our guide, Miguel, had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable. We did so much in one day--it was the only tour we needed while in Guanacaste. I loved that we were picked up from our hotel. Every detail was accounted for. Zip Lining was breathtaking literally and figuratively, horseback riding was nice and scenic, while the white water tubing was super fun albeit scary at times!. The pros were definitely experts in each of the sports we enjoyed. They were very encouraging when we were reluctant read: scared, too. We made friends during the day because we experienced so much together. Lunch was really good, and the hot springs soak at the end was exactly what we needed to undo all of the adventuring of the day. What a phenomenal time! Get the photo package--it's definitely worth it.
Very exciting adventure! Everything well organized along the tour, and the staff is very attentive. Zipline in canyons first, with some rock climbing optional it's easy for everyone. Then horse riding very nice, and relaxing ride, but a bit crowded. Horses bump into each other along the narrow path. After that jump into bus which takes you to river tubing ride down the river the most exciting and refreshing part especially in sunny weather, but don't try to be a hero and don't take your phone with you in any super waterproof case or such, one guy behind me has lost it in the the rapid river. Then off to hot volcano pools and mud before making a pit stop at buffet bar for lunch delicious and plenty of food choices. I wish I could spend more time in the pools it feels fantastic, but we only had like one hour allocated for it. The driver picked us up at the hotel for this amazing trip, special thanks to him sorry, forgot his name.
