Enjoy a scenic flight from Guatemala City to the Mayan ruins of Tikal on this exciting day trip! Visit the incredible archeological site of Tikal, located in the Guatemalan jungle, and experience the history, culture, beauty and nature of Guatemala.
After pickup from your Guatemala City hotel in the morning, head to airport, hop on a small plane, and set off toward the town of Flores in northern Guatemala! When you arrive, you'll be driven to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Tikal National Park (Parque Nacional Tikal). With an area of more than 341 square miles (550 sq km), this national park is home to thousands of separate ruin structures scattered around, each full of intriguing history.
Follow your expert guide through these Mayan ruins and visit the Central Acropolis, a maze of courtyards and small temples, before continuing to Complex Q and R, where you'll see twin pyramid complexes with altars set in front of the temples. Visit the massive Temple I (also known as the Temple of the Grand Jaguar), built to honor and bury King Moon Double Comb. This 144-foot (44-meter) temple encloses three rooms with outside stairs leading to the top of the steep temple. Walk a short distance to the equally beautiful Temple II, the Temple of the Masks.
After your tour, enjoy a delicious lunch before taking some time on your town to explore the ruins at your leisure. Then, head back to the Flores airport to begin your transfer back to Guatemala City.

We had a smooth adventure. Our guide E was amazing and so knowledgeable about the culture and history at Tikal. I was traveling solo and felt comfortable the entire time. Food was okay! Do not miss out on Tikal!
Very knowledgeable guide who shared insights into Mayan culture, flora and fauna of the rain forest.
Just a compulsory tour for everyone who travels through Mesoamerica. The most memorable experience from the travel in six countries.
We had an excellent guide. He was very enthusiastic and answered all our queries. We had an amazing trip. Delicious food. Everything from flight to shuttles to guide to meal - well coordinated trip. Will recommend to everyone.
This is a great trip that hits all the important spots in Tikal. This a truly exceptional option for someone that does not have many days in Guatemala but wants to see Tikal.
A group of 10 of us traveled to Guatemala to visit friends living there temporarily. We considered Tikal a must see, even though we only had one day to squeeze it in. Several people in our group have bad knees and were worried about being able to keep up. When I met our guide, Benny, at the airport in Flores I told him about our concerns. He arranged for an open bed truck with bench seats to take us quite a bit of the distance and let us out to see the Temples and walk the rest of the way and then a return trip back on the truck. It made all the difference. Thunderstorms were predicted for the day of our trip and I was worried it would ruin our trip, but we only had a smattering of rain drops no big deal. Benny was a great guide. Lunch was good. We all enjoyed the trip very much.
We were picked up from the hotel promptly at about 4:45 am and brought to the airport. Note the airline you'll be flying because it is totally ticketless. You will take a small plane to Flores we flew TAC air. The shuttle was waiting for us when we landed. Flores is SO different from the airport in Guatemala City. It's not frantic, it's clean and it feels safe. The tour was great. Hiking through the jungle, we saw spider monkeys and heard the howler monkeys. Our guide pointed out different fauna and the area was beautiful. There were so many ruins and it was almost overwhelming. It is a very long day. Here are some things to keep in mind. It is very humid. The trails were VERY slippery. You will do a lot of walking I think it was over 5 miles of walking per fitbit and you will climb a LOT of steps although this is optional, but I highly recommend going to the top of the pyramids for a better view. The lunch was onsite at about 2:30pm, and it was very good. You should bring a little snack and a water, as you will be doing a lot of walking between the time you land and lunch. I am a 57 year old woman in reasonable shape and by the end of the day I was exhausted. It was SO worth it, but plan on a very long day. My only complaint was the flight back from Tikal. The gate agent insisted my ticket was issued by mistake and wouldn't let me on the plane until a later flight even though my ticket clearly indicated I was suppose to be on the earlier flight. The tour company made my travel companion wait in Guatemala City until my later flight arrived. This was an infuriating end to a very nice day. The airline didn't even attempt to listen when I insisted I was part of the tour that was on the plane...If you have 16 hours in Guatemala City, I would absolutely recommend this tour.
AMAZING tour of the ruins! The tour guide, Louis was AMAZING! We had a very on hands, very informational tour and learned ALOT about Maya. I would DEFINITELY go again!
This is a must-see trip. Wonderful experience exploring the Mayan ruins. The guide was terrific. Lunch was okay too. Make sure you bring bug spray, as prices are inflated at the location.
excelente!!! el aereo excelente un poco demorado al regreso, el guia fue excepcional y el almuerzo riquisimo!!!!!
Incredible experience! Definitely enjoyed the tour and the guide was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the culture and history, making the tour and the surrounding even more memorable! Highly recommended indeed, especially if you only have 1 day!
This tour was spectacular! The coordination in all the different transportation arrangements was flawless. The price was a bargain, especially considering the distances traveled and different modes. I was met everywhere. Tikal is incredible! Our guide was superb as was our driver. I would give more stars if more were available.
This trip was great! Flew in and out same day out of Gua city. Don't fly with aerosols... taken away at the airport. Great guides, good food, awesome ancient place.
This day trip was amazing, it is a long day but worth it. Everything was done as they promised. The tour guide in Flores was very knowledgeable and nice. Lunch was nice.
It was an amazing trip is worth booking with Aviator their stuff makes everything easy from beginning to end. I highly recommend booking with Aviator.
Excellent tour to the Ancient Maya Culture! Use comfortable shoes and be prepared for quite an amount of walking and climbing upstairs.
Absolutely incredible place to go. Make sure you save enough energy to go to the top of all monuments, particularly the largest and last. Incredible views of the countryside and the ruins themselves make you realize there are places on this earth we absolutely have to save for future generations. The trip itself from the airfield to the site and back was well handled and our guide was extremely informative, not only about the site but about the birds and wildlife. The drop off and pick up at the airport in Guatemala could have been handled a little better though with a little more information to assist us in finding our way, especially for those of us who do not speak Spanish. Well worth the money and time - truly deserving of being a UNESCO World Heritage site and a must see.
The trip was amazing with a journey through the jungle to experience the steps of the Mayans. Upon reaching the pyramids, you get a breathtaking view of the gigantic structures which are the largest in Central America. A once in a lifetime experience, up close and personal with the Mayan culture.
This was an excellent tour from beginning to end.we were picked up at our hotel, easy check in and flight with TAG airline. Our guide was knowledgable and did a great job of accommodating people with different levels of language and physical stamina. The half day walking among the ruins was magical.luncha at the end was excellent
Would highly recommend this one day tour
It was a great experience. I was nervous before the trip wondering if anyone would really show up to get us, but everything went exactly as planned. The tour guide and driver were very helpful. We had a great time and the lunch was very good as well. Be prepared to not eat until about 2pm though. So you might want to bring water and snacks.
