Your cultural encounter starts when you meet with your guide/driver at Marina Pez Vela part of Puerto Quetzal Guatemala. Your guide will ask you to board our confortable SUV with aircondition and inmediately start his narrated description of Guatemala. You will have several stops on the way to appreciate the folklore, cultural, and matural interest that makes Guatemala known. You will stop to get to taste our unique tropical fruits, and get to know the way of life of a mayan village famous for its hand made textile made with the oldest weaving technique of the mayas known as backstarp loom. Once in Antigua the guide will go through an strategic route that will permit you to appreciate all the monuments that Antigua is known for including a visit to the main market and bus terminal where you will be impressed with our local means of public transportation known by visitors as chicken buses. The tour includes visit to the hill of the cross and a walking visit to explore the main plaza, street of the arch, cathedral ruins, Cooperacion Española Cultural Center, Casa Santo Domingo, Jade Musem, La Merced Church, Old University building and last but not least the San Francisco el grande churck known for having the remains of the only saint of Guatemala recognized by the catholic church known as Hermano Pedro de Bethacourt. At an appropiate time the guide will suggest serveral places to eat or drink something based on your expectations. On your way back you have the options of stopping at a popula macadmia plantation known as valhal and appreciate the handmade textiles at San antinio Aguas Calientes. Return to the port with a minimum of 1 hour before all aboard time and feel pleased that you have gotten to know the best that the cultural site has to share with anyone.
