Trekking Toubkal Ascent 2 Days / 1 Night

Climb the highest peak in Morocco & North Africa, jebel Toubkal or Mount Toubkal with its summit at 4167m, it is an adventure of life time, takes only 2 days & 60km away from Marrakech to Imlil valley (called small chamonix) the starting point of the trek.

Trekking. Gazing at the High Atlas Mountains from afar--or even from eye level with Imlil as a base--cannot do your experience with the beautiful and exotic Moroccan landscapes justice. With countless guides, both private and group, available for expeditions, it is nearly not worth the trip to Imlil without the trek. And the pinnacle--both figuratively and literally--of High Andes hiking is the 13,670-foot peak of Mt. Toubkal.

Itinerary

Day 1: marrakech-imlil-refuge

Stop At: Toubkal Trekking Atlas Mountains Trek Atlas, P2005, Aremd, Morocco
Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Refuge

Pick up from Marrakech at 8.00am & drive towards the High Atlas Mountains, arrival to Imlil, meet the team (guide & muleteer) and the set off for the trek, walking up Toubkal massif via Aroumd village & follow a mule path, pass through the sharine sidi chamharouch, enjoy the view over the river & streams along the way up to the Toubkal basecamp. overnight at the Hut. 5-6hrs walk.Overnight at the toubkal refuge

Day 2: refuge - top of toubkal-imlil-marrakech

Stop At: TOUBKAL TREKKING MOROCCO, Asni, Imlil 42152, Morocco
Day 2: Toubkal Refuge – Summit – Imlil – Marrakech.

After an early breakfast (4.30am), start the ascent via a step & zigzaging path up to above the basecamp, the guide will manage many breaks to acclimatize with the altitude & find a good pace, water & some nuts will be provided along the way, 1st view of the summit after 2.30hrs walk, enjoy the sight of the edge & a stunning view over the river on the other side, continue through the edge and then a small plateau to reach the summit within another 30min walk. relax & enjoy the views of the surrounding high Atlas peaks & valleys, light picnic before you walk down via the north side of the summit back to the basecamp for a 3 meals cours lunch, as short break afterwards before walking down to Imlil valley (via the same path), get a pick up & drive to Marrakech.
