The largest Orthodox Cathedral in Saint-Petersburg is dedicated to Peter the Great's patron saint. The construction of the building lasted for 40 years until 1858. It was designed by a French architect Auguste de Montferrand and decorated by the best artists from the Russian Academy of Fine Arts. The interiour of the Cathedral is adorned with Roman mosaic panels, semi-precious stones, oil paintings. During the tour you will visit the Cathedral and learn the story of its construction, and you will also be able to climb the collonade and enjoy a breathtaking view of the centre of Saint-Petersburg from the height of 42 meters.
