Overview Overview

Walk under the presence of the towering peaks of the Himalayan Range. Visit the series of peaks in the Himalayan range known as Annapurna. Travel through the forest of Oak, Pine and Rhododendron enjoying the amazing view of the Himalayas getting closer every day of the gigantic peaks. Interact with the local people, the Gurung and learn about their rich culture and tradition. Keep a look out for the wildlife in the region like pika, blue sheep, musk deer and Himalayan Thar. Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu

Stop At: Thamel, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu through Tribhuvan International Airport, complete your custom formalities and pick up your luggage and head towards the arrival gate where you will be greeted by a representative from Arihant Holidays.com. You will be transferred to Hotel Shankeror similar standard hotel. We will organize a “Welcome Dinner” in the evening in a traditional Nepalese Restaurant featuring a Nepalese cultural program.

Day 2: Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Stop At: Kathmandu Durbar Square, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
After a delicious breakfast spend the day visiting some of the popular sights of Kathmandu. Also fulfill all necessary purchase and packing in preparation of the upcoming treks. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.
Kathmandu Durbar Square (World Heritage Site)
This complex of palaces, courtyards and temples, built between the 12th and 18th centuries, used to be the seat of the ancient Malla kings of Kathmandu. There are also three museums inside the palace building.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Swoyambhunath Stupa – The Monkey Temple (World Heritage Site)
You can watch over the valley from the top of a hillock on its western side. Swoyambhu is also known as Samhengu and the Monkey temple because of the countless monkeys living in the premises.

Pashupatinath Temple (World Heritage Site)
Pashupatinath is one of the most sacred Hindu shrines in the world and lies 5 kms east of the city center. The richly-ornamented pagoda houses the sacred Linga, or phallic symbol, of Lord Shiva.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Boudhanath Stupa, Boudh Boudha, Kathmandu 44600 Nepal
It is 2500 years old Buddhist stupa in the Valley built in 5th century with four pairs of eyes of Lord Buddha in four cardinal directions keeping an eternal watch over the people and their doings. You will find Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet going round the stupa spinning the prayer wheels.

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara & Trek to Ghandruk

Stop At: Pokhara Lakeside, Lakeside Rd, Pokhara 33700, Nepal
After having a healthy breakfast we drive onwards to Naya Pul to start the trek. We trek through a rough and rocky terrain and follow the river valley through lovely birch forest and rice terraces. Climb uphill and pass various small villages and across the suspension bridges to reach Ghandruk. The second largest settlement of Gurung people enclosed by terraced fields and magnificent views of Machhapuchhare and Annapurna South. Overnight stay at Ghandruk.

Day 4: Trek Chhomrong (2170m/7120ft): 5 hrs trek

Stop At: Chhomrong Cottage, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
We follow the trail and climb the terrain up to Chhomrong. This is the highest permanent settlement in the valley, therefore we stock up on our supplies and kerosene for the strenuous trek. Soaring above the village is the Annapurna South and Hiunchuli and the Macchapuchare across the valley. Soak in the fantastic view of the mighty peaks. Overnight stay at Chhomrong.

Day 5: Chhomrong to Doban (2580m/8460ft): 6 hrs trek

Stop At: Chhomrong Cottage, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
Follow the trail across swaying suspension bridges; plunge into the forests of bamboo, rhododendron and oak and climb through rocky terrain. After a steep descend over slippery stone staircase voyage into a deep forest of Bamboo and rhododendron and transverse several avalanche chutes to reach Doban.

Day 6: Doban to Deurali (3230m/10,595ft): 4 hrs trek

Stop At: Deurali, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
Start the day following the trail steadily climbing the side of the canyon through thick bamboo, oak and rhododendron forests above a gushing river. Crossing a small bridge over streams and travelling through a rocky trail through a tranquil forest filled with the wildlife in their natural habitat. Climbing up a steep ravine we come across the Hinku Cave, an overhanging rock followed by large boulders to Deurali. Overnight stay at Deurali.

Day 7: Deurali to Machhapuchare Base Camp (3700m/12135ft): 3-4 hrs trek

Stop At: Machhapuchhre Base Camp, Ghandruk 33700, Nepal
After a brief walk from Deurali we reach the middle of the river bed surrounded by towering snow-covered mountains. At sunrise the snow shines with the first touch of light and the river valley is filled with warm sun rays. The trek to Machhapuchre Base Camp is a laborious task but it is offset by the amazing view of Machhapuchre. Also, the magnificent views of Mt. Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III and Gangapurna make it forth the trip. Overnight stay at Machhapuchare Base Camp.

Day 8: Machhapuchare Base Camp to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m/13,545ft): 2-3 hrs trek

Stop At: Annapurna Mountain Range, 33500 Nepal
Heading towards Annapurna Base Camp, the vegetation begins to disappear. We follow the trail alongside the stream and climb the knoll beside the glacial moraine. We are greeted by the majestic view of the Annapurna towering above the sanctuary. Overnight stay at Annapurna Base camp.

Day 9: Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) to Bamboo (2310m/7575ft): 6 hrs trek

Stop At: Annapurna Mountain Range, 33500 Nepal
We savor the glistering sunrise over the Himalayas before starting our trek back. It is much easier to climb back down the valley and will reach Bamboo which is close to Dobhan in a single day. Overnight stay in Bamboo.

Day 10: Bamboo to New Bridge/Jhinu Dada (1760m/5770 ft): 6 hrs trek

Stop At: Annapurna Mountain Range, 33500 Nepal
We follow the trail from Bamboo passing through Chhomrong and descending down to Jhinu Dada. Overnight stay at Jhinu Dada.

Duration: 6 hours

Day 11: Jhinu Dada to Naya Pul to Pokhara, Fly back to Kathmandu

Stop At: Nayapul Trekking Starting Point, Baglung Rajmarg, Salyan 33400, Nepal
We trek from Jhinu Dada and descend down to Naya Pul. This signals the end of our trek. From Nayapul, we drive to Pokhara. In the afternoon, fly back to Kathmandu.

Day 12: Final Departure

Pass By: Tribhuvan International Airport (KTM), Ring Rd, Kathmandu 44600, Nepal
It’s now time to say fare-well to towering mountainous as the time for departure is arriving soon. You can squeeze in some last minute sightseeing and shopping. A representative from Arihant Holidays will escort you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your scheduled flight.
