Ensure that it doesn&#8217;t come in contact with any metallic surfaces. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After this, turn the car off and wait a few minutes to allow any electricity inside the ECU unit to bleed out. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Now press and hold the brake pedal for a few seconds. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">This<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is to facilitate capacitor discharge by illuminating brake lights. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">After completing all these steps, reconnect all the battery cables, start the car, and see if the &#8216;check engine&#8217; light persists. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The ECU should be reset by now. However, if the &#8216;check engine&#8217; light persists, it&#8217;s time to take your car to the mechanic. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Method 2: Pulling the fuse\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The easiest way to perform an ECU reset is by removing the fuse from the fuse box.<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> It is a very simple process, and all you have to do is pull out the car key, remove the fuse from the fuse box, and then put it back after about 15 to 20 seconds.
