Used EVs purchased in 2023 or later could qualify for a tax credit of up to $4,000. The battery components and minerals must also come from North America. Other factors include,<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><strong>Eligibility price caps<\/strong><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Vans, SUVs, and pickup trucks: $80,000 (or less).<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Sedans and passenger cars: $55,000 (or less).<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Used: $25,000 (or less).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Additionally, there&#8217;s the <strong>modified adjusted gross income (MAGI)<\/strong> to consider in order to qualify.<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Head of household: $225,000<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Married couples filing jointly: $300,000<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">All other filers (single and married): $150,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">For a used EV,<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Head of household: $112,500.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Married couples filing jointly: $150,000.<\/li>\n<li class=\"ewa-rteLine\">All other filers (single and married): $75,000.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">Once you confirm with the seller that the car you have selected is eligible for the credit, decide when to take it (either immediately or when you file your tax return for the year).<\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"ewa-rteLine\">It&#8217;s also important to get a time-of-sale report from the seller at the time of purchase.
