2021 VW Bug: Is the Hype Real?

Spread the love

The Volkswagen Beetle is undoubtedly one of the most instantly recognizable automobile brands on the road. Lovers of the little bug might wonder if a 2021 VW bug (Beetle) exists or ever did. Let’s find out.

The Beetle’s shape is one of the most unique on the road and is identifiable a mile away. Front-wheel drives and a 174-hp turbo four combine to provide a brisk performance. The Beetle Dune, for instance, boasts an off-road design and rides 0.4 inches higher. The quirky, retro-style design of the Beetle is endearing. Later editions had features like blind-spot monitoring and a touchscreen navigation system to bring it up to date.

Production of the Beetle continued through 2010 when it was replaced by a model more faithful to the original, the Beetle (A5), which entered production in 2011. By the year 2019, production of the VW Beetle had stopped entirely.

Is there a 2021 VW Bug (Beetle)?

Volkswagen decided to end production of the iconic VW bug in 2019, exactly 70 years after the first models were sold to consumers in the United States. There is currently no information about the future of the Volkswagen Beetle, which many people desire to see revived.

With the 2019 VW Beetle, Volkswagen put an end to the third generation of the iconic car’s manufacture. This generation, the Beetle (A5), came after the New Beetle. The A5 received praise for its design. It was reminiscent of the vintage Volkswagen Beetles. It was manufactured from 2011 until 2019.

The second generation of Beetles, which was manufactured from 1997 to 2011, was superseded by the third generation. We don’t know what 2023 holds for us.

The final VW Beetle had to be a triumph for the automaker. Nonetheless, compared to earlier model years, it didn’t change all that much, for better or worse.

The 2019 Volkswagen Beetle’s four-cylinder, the 2.0-liter engine produces 174 horsepower. The 2019 Beetle achieves fuel economy ratings of 33 mpg on the interstate and 26 mpg in the city. Compared to other small automobiles on the market, this is regarded as a pretty subpar number.

This final production model has additional features to make driving safer and more convenient, including a backup camera and blind-spot monitoring. Also, the 2019 Beetle got a lot of praise for having an easy-to-use infotainment system that works with smartphones.

The 2021 VW bug is most likely not happening anytime soon. Meanwhile, enthusiasts can look at the used cars market if they really want a Beetle. Anyone interested in purchasing this classic car from its final model year should budget between $23,184 and $33,148.

VW Bug (Beetles) special edition

The Volkswagen Beetle has received various special editions over the years since it is such an attractive vehicle. They have either made some of its features better or improved the way it looks. The 2012 VW Beetle Black Turbo, which included a supercharged engine, a rear spoiler, and a sleek black paint job, was one of the first.

With the introduction of the Beetle Dune in 2016, Volkswagen sought to dispel the perception that the Beetle is not an adventurous vehicle. Although this car lacked four-wheel drive, it did have better suspension for a more challenging ride.

The 2019 model’s final special edition, appropriately called the Final Edition, was made available. This version had two color schemes that paid homage to The Beetle’s past and were available as a coupe and convertible.

Will there be another VW bug?

Volkswagen said its final goodbye to the Beetle with a tribute video IN 2019. With the auto manufacturing giants focusing more on the EV sector, it seemed the right choice.  So far, we have no updates on the relaunch of the newer version of the Beetle (2021 VW bug ).

The Beetle is obviously Volkswagen’s most iconic car. The Beetle still maintains its iconic fanbase and cult status in the used cars sector. If you’re lucky, you can find one in top-notch condition, as there are still many Beetles roaming the streets or lying unexplored.
