Better be prepared though – it is a tourist hotspot and the main terminal for transbay commuter ferries. Ferry Building parking shouldn’t worry you; there are plenty of options, and here’s all you need to know for a hassle-free experience.

Tourists and locals love to hang out at the Embarcadero; you can always expect the neighborhood to be busy. But there is no need to think twice about driving to the Ferry Building – you can safely leave your car at the parking lot and enjoy your day on the waterfront or hop on a ferry. Ferry Building parking lot  

San Francisco Ferry Building valet parking is available at the on-site garage on weekdays, from 10 am to 10 pm. But this will cost you $15 an hour; with Ferry Building Marketplace validation, you could park for $12 an hour. However, you’ll find cheaper deals at secure parking garages only steps away, along the Embarcadero and other main streets in the neighborhood.   

Parking Lots near San Francisco Ferry Building  

Pier 3 Hornblower Landing parking lot offers hourly parking spaces, starting at $5 and going up to a daily maximum of $20. This lot is open on all days of the week, from 8 am to 10 pm. The Propark Lot at Washington and Embarcadero has over 100 parking spaces, and you can park here for $8 an hour. The daily maximum is about $60, but if you park after 5 pm, a flat rate of $25 could be available. Another option within walking distance is the Four Embarcadero Center Lot on Clay Street – rates start at $6 for 30 minutes and go up to $35. Monthly parking is also available at this parking lot for about $430.

Ferry Building validated parking 

The ProPark Parking Lot at Washington and Embarcadero offers discounted rates for Ferry Building San Francisco parking with validation. Validated parking rates start at $4 for an hour and $8 for each additional hour after the first 2 hours. Parking validation is also available for Ferry Building valet parking.   

Street parking near Ferry Building San Francisco  

Street parking is available along the Embarcadero, Mission Street, Washington Street, Broadway, other main streets, and cross streets in the neighborhood. Meter rates range from $2 – $4 on average; always check posted signs for up-to-date information on meter rates, no-parking times, maximum parking time limits, and other restrictions. Free street parking during the day is limited near the Ferry Building; the closest spots are at Vallejo and Montgomery streets. During evenings, you’ll find more free parking spots closer to the Ferry Building.   

Apart from expiring meters and tight time limits, street parking comes with the added risk of temporary regulations that could award you a parking ticket.
