The Name of the Airport

The Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport has been named after the celebrated civil rights activist Thurgood Marshall. He was the 96th Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, serving from 1967 to 1991. Thurgood Marshall was also the first African-American to serve as a justice.
